Because everyone feels like their opinion deserves its own thread.

You can't teach passing and court vision to AB by now. He either has it coming out of college or he doesn't by now. Yes, you can refine his passing and court vision to make it better, but teaching him passing and court vision from scratch is impossible if he didn't have it to begin with.

What are you talking about? If anything his time in Detroit has exposed AI for the selfish player that he is. He didn't have Yao Ming, but he had Carmelo, Nene, Camby and Martin at Denver. Then he had Rip Hamilton, Prince, Stuckey, Mcdyes and Rasheed in Detroit. He quit on his team rather then come off the bench. How is that not selfish?

AB is AB. He is a small, speedy player with a below-average basketball IQ and inconsistent scoring ability, and anyone who has seen him play this year should know it. So the problem is really not so much on Brooks, it is rather on the management and coaching staff who have made such a wise decision to have him run our team’s offense.

Exactly how I feel. Sigh. Yao kills them, then down the stretch, AB doesn't give up the rock to him. There's only so much yelling at the TV my wife can take. For the love of all that is good, PLEASE PLEASE put in Yao, Scola, Battier, Von, and Lowry. You may have another opinion, and that's great, but you're wrong.

This lineup can be tinkered with as-needed, but as a base line-up for clutch time, this is it. How do you take the world's best center and his clutch European sidekick out of the game? Put in Brooks and Artest. Especially late, when defenses tighten down.

Ball movement will set you free!

No matter how bad AB played, Adelman would never criticized him. Instead, Yao is the one who has been criticized most by Adelman.

did you see Yao shake his head in disgust when Brooks waived him off even when he had postion on Oden??!!!.....I thnk Yao will not re sign with us next summer if Aaron Brooks is the future PG of this team....Brooks is not right for this team....he should come off the bench..when yao is on the floor, lowry needs to be on the floor.....runs the offense better....
If we lose this series, it will be because of Brooks....please start lowry next game....

Point taken. Mistakes will be a part of being a PG. But then, Deron, as a sophomore, has posted far better numbers than AB has posted in his own second season. And also in his second year, Deron maintained or even upped his averages from last season, and he was also the new PG then. On the other hand, AB is playing downhill. From 27 PTS and 7 AST to dismal numbers all-around, he really needs to adjust on the fly before it's too late. Taking over the reins from Rafer was not certainly easy for him, but he still had about 2 months to learn for the playoffs. And now that's he's in the playoffs still being the starting PG, he's not yet the PG that the team has been aspiring to turn into, but if he's mindful of (a damn lot) his weaknesses (pretty obvious) and the Rockets' sitch right now, he'd better start pondering that his basketball is detrimental and needs to do better - speaking of better, less bricking, smarter passing, tougher defense, and the intangibles. If I could just wish, he had been given with BB IQ or defensive smarts (things that Shane or Chuck has) instead of his speed. (not likely) I'll just look forward to Game 6 and hope (not banking much on it) that he's ready to play unselfishly for a win, if he does get to play.
*My take: 90% of my gut feeling tells me Lowry will see a start.

I don't know what to think of the Rockets right now. I think it is everyone's fault. It is Aaron, Ron, Yao, etc. But some players were great out there today like Shane and Scola. Scola should be our MVP of the series if we win

Shane? Really? Why do you think he had a great game? What about his lack of offense?

I'm really asking this and not trying to bash him.

May be he meant last game..

Shane gets his points mostly from spot ups, and he would've had a better showing and taken more than 3 whole shots if they'd actually swing the damn ball over to him instead of driving it straight into the big pile-up right in front of the basket

But Shane's been more than a spot-up shooter this series. Along with hitting his three's, he's been driving to the rim a few times a game, getting himself open beneath the basket. Just being more aggressive.

But tonight, not so much. So did Portland defend him differently, did he not get a lot of touches, or was he just not as aggressive?

I'm not blaming this loss on Battier, but his 10+ points were certainly missed.

Then AB is little Ron then, because I would describe Ron the same way also.

AGREED. I feel sorry for AB for all the blames pinned on him. I still think he's better than Alston but just not a starting material for a good team at this moment. And the truth we have to tell is that somehow the passing job to Yao is kind of harder than say, to a normal player.

Brooks is certainly a better offensive player than Alston, but Alston's ability to set up our offense and passing is way better than Brooks. What we need is a PG with a combination of both skills.

Brooks did not play smart today. I really like to see Lowry as a starter instead. He is a better floor general than Brooks, and also has decent offensive skill.

Game 6 is a must win, otherwise it is over.
