Houston (AP): Manny Ramirez, frequent contributor to the clutchcity.net BBS, has admitted to using anabolic steroids to keep up his post per day average. In an exclusive interview with BBS administrator Clutch, Manny, as he likes to be called, said that "There is no way I could keep up with my current pace without the juice." Manny, who lives in Tennessee and works in Finance, first registered at the clutchcity.net BBS in August of 2001. He has suprised many regular BBS posters by amassing over 3,100 posts since then. His 10.35 posts per day is the number one average of the over 4,000 registered members of the BBS. "The guy's a maniac!", exclaimed Jeff Balke, board moderator, "I honestly don't know how he kept up that torrid pace, but I guess it makes sense now." Although Manny admits to periods of slowdown, he says that he has no trouble posting as often as he does. "Yeah, back in Feburary, I didn't know if I could keep it up. The Rockets weren't playing very well, and there wasn't much to talk about. When we landed that top pick in the draft, though, that gave me renewed energy." Besides his frequent posting, Manny is also noted for starting thread related to music. He explained that there is a connection between music and steroids. "When I got the juice flowing and my Britney Spears CD cranked up, I could post all night", Manny said with confidence. heypartner, second on the BBS post per day list at 9.60, says he is clean. "Nah, man, I don't juice up, but I've seen some weird stuff people do to keep their post count up. Caffeine, mar1juana. alcohol...There's even this one guy named huby_n1 that plays with himself. I figured that would make a person more tired, but it seems to affect him differently" huby_n1 could not be reached for comment.
I knew Manny was juicing, have you noticed how puffy his posts got? And I don't trust heypartner, give him a test! If you're really clean heypartner a test won't hurt now will it? I had posts in the range of 9 per day at one time and I admit I used steroids to get them. Everybody else was using them, and when someone else is juicing and responding to posts before you get a chance to, and they're posting at around 7 to 10 per day, what else can you do? Peer pressure man, peer pressure! There are others on this board juicing, I'm not going to say, but you can just tell they're juicing!
ROTFLMFAO!! Great and clever post, A-Train. When I first read the title, I got scared that the real Manny had admitted to using steroids. BTW - You should see me now. When I first started, I was a paltry 150 and skin and bones. Now I'm a buff 182 with cut arms and gone from a bench press max of 125 to 180! But steroids had nothing to do with it!
I'd aim to get your bench to 1.5 times your weight...that's a good amount (as my strength coach says).
Wow, am I that much of a dork that I actually knew before checking this thread out that the story would be on the BBS Manny and not the actual ballplayer? Geez. I need a life.
well if some of the long time BBS members have been 'roiding up, than those of us in the minor leagues (with sub 500 post counts) have no choice but to use steroids just to make it to the big show!
I'm too old school. I've never used steroids to amass my post total. But if it will prolong my careeer, now that I'm in my twilight years....hmmm....
Nice site drapg, except for: "Trash the Spurs and the Mavs all you want, but where were the Houston Rockets in May? " Getting the first pick of the draft
thanks man... yeah, i wrote that article before the draft... i have to keep my houston sports bias in check sometimes (just to try and stay neutral and have SOME credibility!)
I think finn used to juice. he's deffinately slowed down now, but he used to be fierce. Me, I just take my stim's and post like hell on weekends. sometimes the booze does me in, but since clutch banned(benched) me once thinking I was drunk I have tried to cut back. hell I just want to get into the game. last thing you want is for the coach to think is that your using.
Well, since the cards are on the table, I regretfully admit that I and seven other posters accepted money to throw the best poster tournament.
