John and Lance in the morning, CP in the afternoon. Unfortunately, I work until 7 PM now, so I usually have to miss Charlie's show.

BTW, what happened to Carl Dukes? Will he still be around for UH football this year?

610 Nightshift is still where it's at, but I do miss Matt Jackson. He and Wex were great together. Danny Vara has improved a great deal, though, and I enjoy him, too.

At lunchtime, I usually just hope Rome has an interesting guest on. The Monsters of the Midday are Satanically bad and Hoffman is a hairbrain. The hosts I can't stand are Rich Lord, the 1560 morning guys, and Vandermeer. I used to listen to 610 in the mornings but I just can't stand it unless it's a monday morning and the Texans just won.

Nightshift is all I need, really.

Carl Dukes is on 97.5 FM from 3-5 every weekday. Not sure about the UH football question though.

so, not like anyone cares (other wise this wouldn't have happened) but apparently 'the mens room' is no more. if you don't know about this show, it was the morning show on 790 hosted by brad davies and craig roberts.

they're being replaced by the monsters show 6-8, and then 11-3 i think is what i heard CP say.

Man, why doesn't Craig get more love? He's hilarious with his dry sarcastic wit.

I'm pretty much a 610 guy. Marc and Andre in the morning during football season, than Adam Clanton from 10-11 (Very Funny and entertaining).

I thought Brad Davies and Craig Roberts were pretty good. They seemed pretty level-headed. Monsters is very difficult for me to listen to.

I despise John Lopez. Ted Deluca is okay, but when he's with John Lopez, and AGREEING with some of his idiotic views and observations, he loses all credibility and just seems that much more annoying.

These guys make big deals about things that should mostly be non-issues to most educated sports fans (talking more about T-mac predicting the Lakers than the actual series itself, critcizing Berkman for criticizing, etc.). They go out of their way to be controversial, rather than simply discussing the issues that are readily there to be discussed. They eventually force it down you to the point that there's nothing left to talk about but the one-trackedness they've steered the conversation towards.

Brad Davies was sort of meh... too much east coast influence, as it was obvious he didn't have a real grasp of the h-town sports mentality (which Vandemeer seems to have picked up on)... but Craig Roberts was often underused and underrated. He's got decent takes, he doens't make an "ass" out of himself by yelling into the microphone, making non-stop pop culture references, or simply making up and exacerbating drama just to seem controversial (all things that John Lopez does do).

If you asked me "who was the newspaper reporter" amongst Lopez, Justice, and Roberts... I would say Roberts in a heartbeat based on the way he carries himself. Obviously, I'd be wrong... as it seems that newspaper writing leads one to being an even bigger jerk/annoyance once they get to radio.

Dan Patrick will be moved to his live time at 11.

I sent you an email through the bbs, by the way.

I thought Brad sucked and emphasized everything negative, got rather annoying. Craig is awesome though, wish he would land somewhere else. Maybe 1560 will pick him up and replace Hoffman.

Craig Roberts is unlistenable to me. Every time he opens his mouth I subconsciously say, "Hurry up, hurry up" because it takes him 90 seconds to say something worth 10 seconds, but he has to insert 2 or 3 asides before he finally makes his point. I also can't stand guys who think they are funnier than they really are.

Brad Davies was OK, I guess. He and Carl Dukes didn't work. He and Craig Roberts didn't work. He must be part of the problem.

Davies and Dukes was horrible. I liked Dukes better than Davies at the time and was sad to see him get the ax. However, Davies and Roberts was a great pairing, sad to see them go. I loved listening to Roberts since I grew up on him and the Rockets during the 90s. Hope Roberts and even Davies lands somewhere, maybe 1560.

I don't see Davies or Roberts hitting 1560's target or concept at all.

    My lineup for the day:

    - John and Lance in the morning for me - THEY ROCK! Can't stand Vanderdork and Andre, but they are only a filler whenever J and LZ goes to commercial. They should just stick to the Texans broadcast, but they suck at that also.

    - ACE (Adam Clanton Experience) from 10-11 (flip to John and Lance when AC goes to commercial).

    - Can't stand Rome, so I listen to Hoff and Nuno, then Nuno and Raheel. They're starting to grow on me....

    - Then I flip it to Rich and Matt.....but they don't take enough phone calls and have too many commercials (then during their long commercials, I flip it to Sean and John). It would be nice if Matt and Adam Wexler was in the afternoons instead of Rich....

I never listen to 790 or 97.5.....both are crap.

1560 in my opinion surpasses 610 in local sports talk coverage, but when it comes to guests, 610 reels in the big hitters. I think 1560 will soon catch up and take over Houston sports radio in the future.

Kind of wish there was a poll to this thread....
