They should be careful what they wish for.

Not sure whether there are many soccer fans here. As a Borussia Dortmund fan, it was painful to see Dortmund got knocked out by Juventus 3 years in a row in European competitions, be it UEFA Cup or Champions League. In 1997, Juvents fans were quite excited to face Dortmund again in the Final of Champions League. 2 headers from Karl Heinz Riedler, and Lars Ricken's first touch half court volley won the cup for Dortmund with a 3-1 convincing win.

I hope Rockets can do the same, of course, we need to finish business in Portland tonight first. Go Rockets!

I am so disappointed at what so many of you have said in this thread. You guys basically have conceded defeat even before the series starts.

I know , that will piss me off too.

The fact of the matter is, any game Gasol/Bynum/Odom gets 20 points will be a game that we will lose.

    Go Rockets

LA is better than us. But I think at least there is a chance we can beat them. maybe below 30%. Anyway, at least win home games!! go rockets!!!

isnt it a bit o a hypocrisy to come here say we have no chance of beating the lakers, we will get swept then head on to the T-mac thread and say he is a idiot for not suporting his team and saying the lakers will win?

why the heck would they not want us?

kobe has destroyed artest and beaten battier with daggers throughout our regular season matchups; they swept us and though they were close for the most part, they finished well each time and beat us fairly easily each time by the end of the games.

however, if the lakers are expecting an easy series, they have another thing coming. our defense in the playoffs is going to give them trouble and if they decide to play yao straight up, they're going to pay.

first though, we must beat the blazers. don't want to look ahead just yet.

    Key's to beating Laker's

    * Make Kobe play D on somebody. Shane has to be agressive and Ron needs to post him up.
    * Make Kobe take jumpers to beat us, I know he lit Utah up, however, that gets tougher in the 4Q.
    * Stop the role players from getting off. Walton, Odom, Brown, Vujacic, etc..
    * Gasol is murdering Yao and Scolandry for some reason. Get underneath him like Dirk and force him into jumpers with weakside help from Yao in the paint
    * AB must abuse Fisher with his quickness and lower must D up Shannon Brown who gave Utah fits.
    * Von must be shooting out of his mind and play D on Kobe with help.

i think you have to put artest on odom/ariza which ever of the two are in the game.

keep battier on kobe, you cant have battier on odom/ariza, there too strong for battier.

    brooks on fisher
    battier on kobe
    artest on odom
    scola on gasol
    yao on bynum

we match up good that way, DO NOT PUT artest on kobe, artest will try to hard n **** up.

What are you guys talking about man. We're beating portland then beating lakers in game 7. We should really be countering back and starting a thread that says Who do we want to see in the WCF. Dallas or Denver. I say Denver.

good......let the LA loosers underestimate us......then we can send them home and kobe can have more time to rape or um chase women :D (i still think the looser is a rapist and should have spent time in the slammer for what he did)

I think the Key to the series is AB/Lowry & Vonwafer attacking the basket. The lakers will extend their defense out pretty far to put pressure on the ball. This makes it hard on entry passes and causes panick. They probably will be pretty successful the first game against us. We just need to adjust and not be scared and attack the basket with authority. Most likely they won't front Yao and play him 1 on 1. Yao needs to punish inside Bynum/Gasol so their defense won't be too agressive. You know they will get all of the calls.

With that said, we MUST NOT play passive and overlook Portland. We tend to relax with a lead within the game. Most likely we will relax a little w/ a 3-1 game lead tonight knowing this team.

If we beat Portland, not having a backup center will make us even more vulnerable than we arleady were to the Lakers' length.

They have a frickin' SF who is taller and longer than anybody on our team other than Yao.

everyone should chill out we still have to win one more game.

even if we loose the lakers we have had a great season despite:
    1. all star out for season
    2. trading our starting pg
    3. player getting shot
    4. heart and sould of team injured

If the Rockets win the Portland series and Dallas wins their series don't we play Denver not Lakers?

Follow the Brackets not the records.

    1/8 plays 4/5
    2/7 plays 3/6
