Any way to keep this news from Jerry Krause?

That is not as bad as it looks. As you recall, from midseason, I called for Steve to look at videos all summer long of Magic, Stockton and Kidd. This further improves the chances of him following my recommendations. As a bonus, he should add the play of Bibby to it too. For Steve to raise his game to match the max contract, he will have to work on the mental stuff. Videos, videos, videos.

Did you just include Bibby in the same category as Magic and Stockton?? Sorry, but he's still got a ways to go.

    What was his prediction?

    Anyway, draft Jay Williams.

I wouldn't mind seeing Francis, Williams, and Mobley starting together a la Dallas with Nash, Van Exel, and Finley.

No Pimp, I said Francis should watch and learn the mental part of Bibby's game. Next year, Francis will be the leader of a very talented team which would need him to show the same efficiency Bibby is showing now at the controls of a very talented team also. This is not about the all time list of the best point guards.

Francis isn't going to watch squat. He already thinks he is the best point guard in the league, so why would he?

well, at least he won't be playing with Moochie all summer, playing the 2 spot.

Francis is practically falling apart. He missed serious time due to plantar fascitis, then for migraines, now a shoulder injury too? Didn't he injure his shoulder trying to dunk on someone? (Dampier?)

C'mon Steve, you're not worth anything in a trade if you're hurt. ;)

A side note, a large percentage of that 16 weeks will see Steve with his arm immobilized to protect the shoulder. Bummer.

He'll be ok. When i was inschool we hd a 2 sport guy that messed his shoulder up playing football. He was out about the same time, plus rehab is included in that, but when he came back, his left hand was wicked. Francis are after the surgery will be in a sling. After strengthening execises are approved, the sling will come off, but he will not be able to shoot with that shoulder. Francis being the gym rat he is, he will shoot and dribble alot ith his left. Its nothing positive about him having surgery and being out that long, but unlike a leg injury, he still cando leg work and stay in great shape, but not basketball shape. I don't see him getting out of shape too bad. At least it will keep him out of the clubs for awhile.

Hey, there go the Francis trade rumors. NikeSTRAD, do you think Jerry will still be interested? Will this affect Steve's contract this summer? I was going to throw in some smilies, but this is really bad news for the Rocks. Complicates their options considerably.

I'm sure Francis will be fine. Not only does this give him some rest, but it also allows nagging injuries to heal, allowing him to come back fresh and rejuvenated.

I'm hoping that the one positive that comes from this is that all of those ridiculous "Trade Steve" rumors that have been flying around lately will quiet down. Steve, Cuttino, Ming, and Eddie will be regulars in the playoffs sooner than most expect!

YES!! Although I am never happy to see a player hurt, I am truly happy that this increases our chance of having two tickets for the the Big Game Lotto Super Prize!

My favorite player is Steve Francis, however, I would be a little hesitant to sign him to the max now.

That's why I was relieved Steve didn't get picked in the World Championships this year.

Those fools Cat and Steve been playing so much in the offseason that in the regular season they have foot surgeries and other problems.

Yeah, you can't blame that all to offseason playing, but if they should either rest or work out and improve their stamina if they want to be better...

I agree, an ambidextrous Steve Francis is a more valuable Steve Francis.

    Then trade him. :p

I surely hope that Cuttino Mobley gets some rest. Cuttino Mobley played himself out last summer, and could have contributed to those nagging ankle problems.

Hmm...Is Steve ever going to the Mayo Clinic? It's not like it's reservations at Burger King here. Those guys might know what's going on with the migranes.
