This makes no logical sense, but I feel like I can magically will the Rockets to win if I cheer loud enough and I focus hard enough on the tv. I really do believe this and I feel guilty whenever we need a basket and I end up missing it in the bathroom.

This was what happened on Game 2, I went to pee and all hell broke loose.

    I'm sorry. It's my fault. I apolo'iz-e [/tejada].

Anyone else feel that way? That they're not just watching the game but that you convinced yourself the power to change the outcome?

All I know is the Rockets have never lost a game I've attended personally. Can't say the same for TV. :D

Believe me, if I could, I would.

Maybe I'll attend all 3 Home games against LA, though.

So, Ashes, if you're in the game and I hold on to my pee for four quarters, does that mean we beat whoever we're playing by 100 points?

I always feel like when I watch TV that we do poorly, when I get GameCasts on ESPN we win. So maybe I'll stick to ESPN tonight....but I do love seeing them. Decisions decisions.

I used to think like this when I was a kid. I remember watching during the championship years and I would go outside to my hoop during a commercial and say ok if i can make 3 out of my next 5 shots the rockets will win. haha

For us out-of-town fans, the game will be on NBA TV. Game 2 was on NBA TV and we lost. I'm a little superstitious about it... :(

The Rockets never seem to do well if I watch them on TV...it's hard being a fan sometimes.

Ditto. I leave the room they start winning. I come back in and the other team goes on a run. Luckily radio does not seem to be affected by my aura so I do alot of listening rather than watching.

yao im overly superstitious when it comes to ish like this..

I only caught the last half of game 4..when I turned the game on we had a 5 point lead in the 3rd qtr.. right then and there the blazers started their run and ended up leading by 7 or something going into the 4th.

I was having a pretty bad day already and I came to the conlcusion that I was channeling my bad mojo through my tv onto the rockets.

I turn the game off for a while.. played some video games.. ate some food... and when I turned it back on we had the lead with brooks on the FT line.. needless to say Brooks chokes.. and I instantly turn the game off again.. haha i know its silly.. but i like to believe i had a hand in the win :)

My wife tried to convince me that I was jinxing the team by watching, so I should turn it off. But, I kept on watching and we won. We're up 3-1 with me watching, so I can't be jinxing them. Not that I'm doing them any favors either.

Stopped watching game 4 at end of 3rd, and turned it on 610. Maybe I will just listen tonight.

JV, the karma you and I, and the rest of us watching the Rocks in the playoffs, produce is helping. It is a positive energy flowing through the ether, into the cosmos, where the Rockets fly... onward to victory. At least, that's what I tell my wife. We have celebratory sex after every win, so it must work.
