Hasnt shown the consistency to set up his teammates???? Are you serious lol? Dude Roy trys to set up his teammates too much. As a blazer fan i actually want him to look for his shot more. Dont let this series fool you. The reason he's looking to score so much in this series is that no one else has consistently stepped up to score. Also the Rockets defense has been great in rattling this young team. They close the lanes very well and rotate quickly. Broy is definitely a superstar or else this team wouldnt have made the playoffs at all. Look how much they are dependant on him in this series. He practically makes this whole team work. If he isnt in the lineup no one can create a shot either for themselves or for a teammate.

    In simple terms,
Talents = BB skills + athletic but
    Talents does not = wins.
Better does not = wins either.

There are many ways to beat somone who is better: by smart, by hard work and as a team. We may be less talented individually 1-10 but we work better as a team.

Blazers may be more "talented" as a team but they are not more talented at the 2 MOST IMPORTANT positions in B-Ball - Center and PG. Yao is LIGHT-YEARS ahead of both Oden and Przybilla. And Brooks and Lowry is at worst equal to Blake.

That's why they play the game on the court and not on X-Box...

Could you define talent? I think many ppl including me are confused with your definition of talent...

IMO, if a player can't materilize his talent, then all he has is just potential, not talent...

    Game 1, Portland was inexperienced.
Game2-4, they came back, but we were integrate team that everyone played with his heart, like Battier, Chuck, Lowey,Scola, Vafer, when Yao was fronted and doubled. Even Ron was able to control his premiter shoot when he missed most of one, and he asisted Battier twice in Game 4. Also our coach
Ad timeout and substitute in time -another key to the wins.

So talente is one thing, the rule for winning is that you play all have ist and lucky of course 2nd.

    Go, Rockets!

LOL last years Tmac is better than Roy. The only thing that makes Roy more valuable at this point is his youth.

You could make this argument with the starting five but they are nowhere near us depth wise. The reason we are winning is because we're are winning the battle at every postition.

-Aldridge is better than Scola, but Scola and Landry are getting more production out of the PF than Aldridge and Fry.

-Blake has played well the last two games but, Blake and Rodriguez have yet to outplay the combo of Brooks and Lowry.

-Even Roy, when you factor in the production from Wafer and Battier, we're even getting more production out of the wings than them even with Artest's horrendous shooting.

Also a huge factor in our ability to beat them is our strength. They may be more athletic but have the strongest player at every position in this series.

    Lowry/ Blake
    Artest/ Roy
    Battier/ Outlaw
    Landry/ Aldridge
    Yao/ Oden or Pryz

-The rebound differential illustrates this pretty well.

And with the talent of the teams Portland have had over the years, you would think they know that by now.

Who the f*** let this loser post on our board during the playoffs and stating Portlands is better than Rockets?

Is he a r****d? Hello!!! did you forget about our 22 mils hole?

    Hello!!!

    Roy << Tmac (healthy)
    Blake << AB/Lowry
    Outlaw <<<<< Artest or Shane
    Aldridge <<< Scola or Landry
    Oden/Joel <<<<<<<<<<< Yao

Roy is a great player, but he is no way near Tmac or Kobe or Lebron level when all of them are healthy. Roy is however a better leader than Tmac.

    Blake? come on, need explanation?

    Outlaw? please move on

Aldridge, talent wide is better than Scola or landry, but he is Mr. inconsistent. were he able to D or attack the rim the way scola and landry?

Yao, if it isn't for ref, u will see Yao repeating Game 1 and it would be over by now.

The Rockets are better because we have Chuck Hayes. And Chuck Hayes rules!

    End of debate.

That's funny, because there is no doubt in my mind that the Rockets are more talented. At almost every position.

You are right about Roy, because his assists have dropped off quite a bit this series compared to his regular season numbers. But, great players always have the ability to get their teammates involved one way or another.

Look at Tmac, with the exception of the 02-03 playoff series, where he averaged 4.7 assists per game, EVERY other year, he has raised his assists totals and he was able to score 25+ ppg in the series. If he could do that with a team of nobody's in Orlando and with a teammates like Chuck Hayes, Mutombo, Weatherspoon, Ryan Bowen, and Luther Head, Brandon Roy should be able to do that with Outlaw, Blake, Rodriguez, Fernandez, Oden, and Frye.

He might be trying to get them involved, but if could be that he is just not as good a passer/playmaker as some of the "superstars" in this league. I think he will be in time, but he isn't there yet. He's a great scorer right now, but it will be easy to guard him if he isn't going to be able to make plays for other people.

I think Roy is a star player, he's not at the superstar level just yet. He is on a team with Aldridge, who is a very capable scorer and a pretty reliable offensive option. He is on a team with a lot of good 3 point shooters, and his team plays pretty good defense. Add good coaching to that, and you will have a successful team. Brandon Roy is a big part of it, but he didn't necessarily carry his team to the Playoffs. I think what Tmac did in 06/07 with Yao out for 2 months carrying that team by doing EVERYTHING for that team, is an example of a guy carrying a team to success. Lebron doing the same in since 05/06,06/07, and 07/08. Dwade carried the Heat this year. Brandon Roy had MUCH more help than all 3 of those guys.

lol you got it all wrong, peep dis, i don't see where d-wade being the 3rd best player in the league is debatable, just check his stats, enough said. And since when did the blazers have 2 top ten centers? oden definitely isn't in it, i can name dwight, bynum, yao, horford, lopez, nene, chandler, shaq, big z, biedrins, i don't see either of the blazers big men over any of those players. And also, since when was aldridge the best jump shooting power forward? ever heard of dirk nowitzki? he's supreme compared to aldridge, so kick out the non sense of that part of your case, and everything else i agree with.

I started to get worried about this series last night, but then I remembered that I learned from this thread that the Rockets are way better than Portland, and it's not really close. So I guess there's nothing to worry about. That's a relief.
