For those that couldn't make it, I hope you watched it on TV. This was probably the most intense, nerve racking, amazing game I have been too since Eddie Johnson hit the 3 pointer at the buzzer in 97. The crowd was amazing, chanting loud, standing proud, and wearing red all over. The game was close, to the wire, everything. I cant get over it, of all the years I have been going to games since the glory days, never have I been more proud to be a Rockets fan than tonight. Granted this may be alcohol induced, but man. It was amazing. I am just in awe about everything. Even the introduction. It was just sick. I love my Rockets.
You and me both. Down 6 after a bad 3rd quarter, I was nervous as hell. And when Chuck drew that foul on Roy, I couldn't believe what happened thinking Roy got the Blocking foul. I spilled my beer all over my lap, but then I saw the ref throw the hand the other way and I almost cried.
I was there and i think I sat down for maybe 10 minutes total. So much energy, passion and excitement. Every basket sounded like a game winner based on the the noise. The last 2 minutes of Defense charts were so loud I wanted to shut up so I could hear the power. I wish I could have recorded it.
Best game I have ever attended, hands down. This game had it all. I was happy, sad, mad, glad but at the end we came out on top. Every penny I spent on this game was more than worth it.
Great game! I was at both games 3 & 4 and thought game 3 was louder from start to finish, game 4 didn't get intensely loud til the 4th qtr. Amazing nonetheless. Go Rockets!!!
the crowd was a joke , you could hear a pin drop, they finally picked it up in the 4th. The crowd always needs a great play to start cheering.
I could tell the crowd wasn't as loud over the TV. I had to text a couple of Rowdies to try & get the crowd going. I guess it's just me, but I wish the ENTIRE crowd was like the Rowdies. Standing & chanting the ENTIRE time. Hehe, anyways. I was on the edge of my seat because if I stand, I'll block my projector! But I did stand as Battier hoisted that 2nd 3!!! YELLING!
man it was bittersweet for me i wasnt at the game but i should have been but I will take a rockets victory any day of the week. the atmosphere was awesome and I probably would have lost it if I was there. I had some Clutchfans over and we were going nuts in the fourth quarter. Come hell or high water if the Rockets make it to the second round i will be at one of the games in Houston
Ya I had great seats! and it was the best game i have been to in a while, and i go to bout 6 games a season(includin 2 playoff home games and that 2OT game vs the Jazz). this was the best one, and i sat like 4 rows behind the rowdies! just enough where i didnt have to stand up the whole game, if it was right behind them.. standin up the whole game would kill my knees.
I wish I was there but I might've been carried on a stretcher after Fernandez hit that three. I was watching the game at my neighborhood bar and I think the staff was getting worried about how worked up I was. Of course it didn't help that one of the bartenders knew nothing about NBA basketball because she asked me once, "is this like the Final Four or Elite Eight?"
I was there....the first half the crowd was loud, and into it, but our craptastic 3rd quarter kinda deflated everyone. But man, the final 8 minutes were INSANE. I'm talking Game 7 Rockets vs. Knicks INSANE. I was there for that, and the loudness rivaled that. No lie.
I don't get crowds that can just cheer blindly without any knowledge of what is going on during the game. Of course, its admirable... like when Portland was down 30+ and the fans were still going nuts, that's kinda crazy... actually, it seems borderline idiotic. Houston fans will always cheer if something good is happening, or they can sense victory. The only time I've really heard them cheer for a team that is behind was when the Astros were in the playoffs in 04 or 05, and every big rally started with the fans giving them standing ovations (even when they had 3 or 4 run deficits).
i did go to game three and man, i have to give the red rowdies props. i tried to stand and scream the whole game and man, by the 4th quarter my voice was fading and neck was starting to hurt and all that good stuff. going crazy for the whole game is pretty physically demanding.
My wife and I were there and it was very intense. The crowd was so loud they actually drowned out the Red Rowdies....lol Great win and the team as a whole stepped up to the challenge and took a giant step forward in their maturation process.... Bring on game 5 and a first round victory baby!
