Odom talks have been very rampant though out the boards by people with certain "sources". Most of which have us giving up the number 1. Now I find this very hard to believe considering we would be giving up a 4 year contract with the Num 1 pick for Odom, a guy entering the last year of his contract. Now if the Rocks were an early playoff exit team looking for the missing link for a definite championship run next season I could see that happening, but we all know the Rockets were anything but an early exit playoff team. They are "rebuilding" for the future and not the short term.

for this franchise, next years playoff run is as important as the kings championship run is to their franchise.

    we need playoffs next season!

once we make it, we will be considered a respectable team, and odom will want to sign long term.

Exactly, this is why the Rockets should trade the pick. Yao Ming isn't bringing us any closer.

Branman, I wouldn't say that the Rockets are a rebuilding team, they had playoff potential last season but injuries killed us.

And why wouldn't Yao bring us any closer? Stop stating your own speculations and belives as facts. I think getting Yao and keeping him is the best thing we can do to imrove our team. I might be wrong though.
