Battier better than Artest on Roy

uhh. this needed a thread why?

 

Artest was on him most of game 3, and Roy was held in check.

That said, Morey did say Wednesday morning that Battier has done the best job on Roy. Not quite sure what he's basing that on.

 

Probably because Ron always gets burned when Roy goes to the rim, Battier is more mobile and can recover better off the picks.

 

Agreed. Ron has problem getting around the screen. Some Blazers fan said the same thing.

Artest: The lebron's, Pierce, Carmello, etc

Battier: Ray Allen, Kobe, JR smith, joe johnson, wade etc

even though they both get lit up anyways

 

You make a very good point there. Though artest can guard any position, i've seen him guard pgs. Battier overall is a smarter and more reliable defender.

 

Yea because I seen shane get man handled by lebron....I mean physically...Artest may get scored on, but he wont get man handled

 

Morey said the same thing after the game last night.

 

Artest gambles too much. If he goes for the steal, Roy blows by him, it is only Yao vs. Roy, while Roy has the option to pass out to the center for an easy dunk.
