Great win and Yao still played like a girl. He think of himself as a great player, but great player doesn't get shut down like this. There is no other way to beat the front other than imposing his will to do it.

people don't seem to understand that we can still use the fronting to our advantage, even if yao doesn't score. it helps get scola lots of open jumpers, it opens up driving lanes and gets bigs out of position for those drives and it makes the D scramble, which someone like wafer (when he's not trying to destroy us) takes great advantage of. grab rebounds, block shots, and get doubled to open it up for everyone else is yao's job if a team wants to put a guy in front of him and a guy behind him. we can't get him the ball, people just have to accept it. almost no one can get it being doubled without the ball, but yao especially will never get it. but if we can take advantage of it in other ways and yao shuts down the middle on the other end, we can win. and if we don't stymie our offense by trying to force it to yao, teams may even have to adjust if our second options start scoring too much while they're doubling yao.

scola was pretty close to aldridge (who was 7-28 on 3's the whole season and wasn't expected to shoot a 3 there), and lowry was all over fernandez. only brooks screwed up by letting blake shoot the open 3. i guess he didn't want to foul but force the drive.

Huh? no he wasn't, people complained that he didnt get the ball to Yao as much as he should. It is harder than it looks to get the ball to Yao when the 5 guys the Blazers have on the court all know that is what you are trying to do.

Best way to beat a fronting defense is passing (usually with motion or great spacing <Carslile is the best coach in the NBA at this> )and hitting open uncontested jumpers.

If the Rockets come out shooting well and hitting outside shots, the Blazers will abandon fronting.

Good post because your exactly right. The only way to easily beat the front is by movement and flat out hitting your shots.

easily? you don't see treatment he gets. for Yao, there is not a basketball match, but a boxing match. other teams basically take advantage of ref's no calls.

to be fair, yao should get 10 FTs before the games even start to compensate us.

    We won't.

    Adelman has abandoned Yao.

Post game comments he's like "Who cares about whose taking the shots!?!!?"

Umm...yeah, maybe YOU Adelman should care. Brooks and Artest are our two main options. Makes things MUCH MUCH harder.

see my previous post. how do you get the ball to a guy who has a defender in front of him and a defender behind him, especially if the guy can't jump or move very well? the answer is you can't.

Seriously, why would you jump on him every time he had a bad game? Watch the game again before you post again. Idiot could tell he was battling HARD on every possession to get around the fronting defense. It's not about him not wanting the ball, it's his physical liability which wouldn't allow him to...Gezz..

Good win. What can I say? This is AB's team not Yao's team.
RA plays yao like scrubs, defending and rebounding.Couldn't he draw up any game plan to get yao ball?Is it really that hard to beat fronting?Jees
