That picture with him holding Brooks head on Saturday is just about enough to make me cry.. We'll miss you Mt. Mutombo.
I know that look. I've had some bad injuries and seen some bad injuries and that is the look of pain and shock when one minute you are competing as hard as you can and next minute you are down and being carted off by the medical staff.
Here's hoping that Deke grabs the mic and says a few words to fire every one up before the start of Game 3. We could give him the standing O that he deserves.
Goodbye Mutombo. It is so rare to find a man like Deke whose true greatness dwarfs even his impressive physical stature. It saddens me to think that you will no longer be wearing a Rockets uniform.
my favourite Deke pic was taken last year when Dream visited the Rockets locker room after one of the games and Deke had this awe look like a kid seeing his idol....that was classic. been trying to find that pic but to no avail. hope someone can put that up. we are all really honoured to have Deke play for us for 4-5yrs now. one things for sure....no one should ever question his heart. he gave his 110% everytime he's on the court. hope he stays with us as an assistant coach or something but then, i think he's better suited the charity work he does....i really admire him. i hope the OP goes well and he's back on his feet again soon. all the best Deke.....we all love you!!
