The points you raised points to the fact that Adelman is just not the right coach for this team. With everything that could have gone wrong going wrong and we were still right there at the end, it is just too painful and bad coach. First, this unrealistic loyalty to the starters is mind boggling. Brooks and Artest may be starters but they have not proven anything yet. If the team on the floor is playing well, when substitute? It is not the first time this will happen and it only shows Adelman is just not a winner. Yao had 4 fouls with the remaining blazer bigs with 5 fouls each, A good coach will MAKE SURE YAO GETS the ball in the 77secs everytime, but know he was still not the aggressor when we had fouls to give, offensively. Rick was supposed to be a great offensive coach, but I must say I am disappointed, totally. Can you tell your PG that if you cannot get YAO the ball, I will bench you? as he claims we were not patient. How about running multiple plays to beat this fronting defense that has been a problem all season. If were LES I would tell the coach, if we lose this series because we cannot get YAO the ball due to this fronting defense, YOU WILL BE FIRED after this season. I think its only fair. And Artest, seriously this guys stock just keep going down in crunch time. He just makes bad decisions and thinks he is Kobe. 1/8 from down town, come on! and it would be nice if Battier flashed and called for some plays to shoot the 3 ball as well sometimes. He just does not want to do anything offenisively, but then he cannot Guard ROy, what is his use on the floor then. WE ARE FAR BETTER than THIS PORTLAND TEAM, but the combination of RA terrible coach against fronting defense, close game substitutions and Artest's decision making down the stretch might cost us this series. I really hope I am wrong. It is time for the coach to take responsibility or get fired.
That dunk by Battier was kinda cool haha. All in all, I thought they did just fine. Those free throws would've helped us out mucho. Our little friend Brooks was amazing. He needs to play more 1 on 1 with Blake. I noticed that JP was displaying alot of contact with Yao and nothing was said. That old dude Greg Oden was being a little prick too. Good thing Yao didn't stoop to his level. Von Wafer needs to keep driving, wether its a miss or a make. He can easily get their bigs into trouble. Lowry was just as good as he can be. Artest... when he gets into the game, hes golden. Good thing that nobody got under his skin. **Why was White in a suit? I didn't realize he got injured if that's the case.** ***I also think it would be a good idea if Brian Cook came into the game and shot his 3 balls if were winning by atleast 11 points.***
Like I said, contain Aldridge and we win. I don't give a **** what Roy does. Gotta shut down Aldridge Friday.
LOL @ people going to the "Adelman isn't right for this team" card...AFTER ONE LOSS BY 4... It's ok...i'm taking the names of the non-believers....cuz i dont want to see you around here when its 3-1 on monday morning.
wtf? this thread was started by Clutch and a routinely after-loss-bashing-everyone thread. you obssession on bashing everything from China(including Yao Ming, Chinese fans, CCTV5, Sina, etc) makes me really suspicious that you are a Chinese(only by blood that's what I mean). only a turncoat could possess such a passion. man this is really ugly, no matter the hatred is well deserved or not.
1. Roy and Aldrige were shooting lights out! They played extremely well. Whenever the scores were close and clock was winding down, Roy hit a ridiculous 3. Give Roy a lot of credit for carrying the team. 2. Brooks actually did not too too bad. He scored some crucial 3's and kept Rox in the game. But his 2 turnovers at the end of the game really hurt the team's chances. 3. Yao gets doubled and fronted. But his teammates picked up there duties. The offense was not too bad because Yao attracted most Portland's defense attention. The field goel percentage was around 50%. Not bad. 4. Vafer played well as well. He was a force in the 4th Q, but he is not Brandon Roy. 5. The refs overplayed the game. There were at least 10 fouls in the first 3 min. They were trying to set the tone for the game, but they missed some obvious fouls. Also, they fell into the flop action of Pryzbilla, which leads to Yao's 4th foul 3 mins in the 3rd Q. All in all I can live with 1:1 at Portland's home court. Port played their heart out, and they were the better team last night with Yao playing limited time and Roy playing like Kobe. Hope Rox can get the next 2 games.
...And we still only lost by four in the second game. Portland has no chance against us. With or without HCA.
Portland doesn't stand a chance in Houston. We will win the next 2 games and if we don't win in Portland in game 5, then we will come back to Houston and take it in game 6.
Geez, some of you guys need to relax. It took 42 points from Roy, 26 from Aldridge, Yao being completely shut out, us shooting less than 30% from 3s, Mutumbo going down, and us shooting less than 70% on free throws for them to win by 4 on their home court where they had one of the best home records during the season. If that's what it takes for them to win a game, they are going to lose the series. Like I said before, our offense was fine. If Yao is sandwiched by two guys even when he doesn't have the ball, that's an advantage for us. That means someone is open. We scored 103 points even though we missed 10 free throws and shot terribly from 3 point line. The problem was the defense. I'd be interested to know what Portland's record was during the season when they scored 107 points or more. I suspect it was really good. Point being, we played fine. We won game one on the road and despite playing average at best while the Blazers two stars were on fire, we had a chance to win game two on the road. Blazers haven't shown anything to make me think they can win in Houston or that they can win if Roy doesn't go off for a huge game.
After last night's game, people keep saying Yao was fronted all game long and also keep saying we have to find way to solve that problem by moving ball around very well.thats all I agreed. One question, only one question, was Yao the only one being fronted in NBA,I don't think so.but why that will be the biggest problem for the Rox?simply bcz thats not fornting, every team when they fronting yao, they grabbing, pushing, shaving him with one,may be two players and without foul called. When they did this in first time without foul being called since he came in NBA,that already set the tone for his entire career.so,there will be two ways to solve theis problem:1.gets fairly call ( seems not gonna happen) 2. use him as decoy, let his teamates run the show ( which AD did).doesn't matter how many shots he got,the matter is can we take the advantage of Yao being fronted, doubled etc. This is my 2 cents.
Second that. Get the redao guy out of here. Why he call this an idiotic thread from China? I didn't see any relationship with China at all. Quote: Originally Posted by redao Another idiotic thread from China.

We have HCA. We got a split at one of the most difficult arenas in the league, a place LA hasn't won at in a while. Glass is half full. It's our house. We got this. Remember how everyone was after Dallas? We'll bounce back and then some.
It's because there is a group of posters whose mission is to bash Brooks, and they only come out when he has an off game or has few assists. They disappeared after Game 1 and came back for Game 2. Personally, I just started putting them on ignore whenever I come across them.
