My arms are bigger than his, I beat he can't even bench his own weight. Look who he is playing against Cato could put up Ming kind of stats in China. Please don't draft Ming!

"Yao Ming of China grimaces as he is fouled by Darryl McDonald"

actually... look at his legs.. he has what looks like good, strong legs. He can work on his arms, his legs are already muscular and strong... nothing like Bradley's toothpicks. Ming is not a beanpole. He has MUCH potential. Whoever drafts him will probably not regret it.

You should be fair on this. Most chinese players are more than 6'5 and very few are less than 6. You saw one image that Yao is much higher than others, those 'others' are Japanese players. But of course there is exception, an example is the big picture at the home page of clutchcity.net site, where the player is Fan Bin, a very good gurad who is 5'10.

It was a joke. I saw some other pics with 7'7" giants and 7 footers. It was just funny as hell to see 5 and a half footers surrounding him.

I think his body is just as thin as EG, and everybody here blows him, so why is this guy any different.Oh I know it's because none of you really have a clue how good this guy could or could not be.I have no idea if he's a bust or not, but if you guys would rather take another guard or someone to jack up more outside shots and not a potential 7'5 intimidator, don't cry when Cato is exposed even more every night.

Agreed with Mr. Feitel. The last thing we need on this team is another ballhog. I just hope that Ming doesn't park his ass on the 3 point line all the time or even worse, Rudy decides to do something stupid like using Ming as a point forward ala Pippen.

Wow, that Korean guy is tall...

NbaDraft.net has him listed as 7'9" and has an old article from cnn.com that talks a little about him trying to come to the US to play in the NBA.

    comments:

    1) Look at Ming driving. The guy's got some strong legs.

    2) Look at his wrists holding up the trophy the guy has got some big wrists and forearms. I take this as potential for arm strength, which he needs to work on.

    3) 296 pounds without fat. I doubt that even Shaq's lean body mass is much over that. Yao is physically definitely a Shawn Bradley, Manute Bol etc.

    4) If it is decided that Yao is the real deal, but he just needs a couple of years to mature, I sure hope we pick and keep him.

    5) Unless Japan has some regions where they have some tall people they should just forfeit internatinal bb competitions. That foto looked down right silly.

I've seen Ming listed from 240-296 so don't believe everything you see.

If you look at the dates along with the photos, I think you'll be able to tell why. In the photos that are from 2000, his arms look significantly thinner than in the 2002 pics. He has probably added a significant amount of mass in the last 2 years.

Here's a review of Yoa Ming from someone in Hong kong who has seem him play.

Good sign, another Chinese NBA player. but i will not blindly say good comment on him, i can say my view ;-)

I saw him playing in TV 1 year ago, but I think ZhiZhi Wong is much better than him. Yes, he is too soft, he can get any advantage in the pink area; that's why the media say he is a jump shooter. how good jump shoot he has? let me rate David Robinson as 10 (out-of-10) as jump shooter, I rate Zhizhi Wong is 6 and Ming is only 3. Since Zhizhi left China Basket league, no one in the league is taller than Ming, so no one can block his jump shoot and block others.

if Ming is gotta join Rockets, good luck! he may improve a lot!

Keep in mind that this was written by someone who is more of a soccer fan than anything, but he has seen him play which is more than I can say.
