Okay, the gloves are off. I'm not disputing the Constitution of the State of Texas, pardner. you've mentioned a fact about Texas splitting into 5 states. And you mentioned a fact about a vague part of the Texas Constitution that mentions nothing about secession, and would be overruled by federal law even if it did. You're wrong. The sooner you accept it, the better.

The level of audacity for Texas' first secession would not be exceeded by any current effort. Those boys had balls as big as church bells.
I agree we don't have a right to secede. Even if we did, the Feds still wouldn't let us walk away. However, I also believe (insofar as I believe in human rights) in a right to national self-determination. So, if Texas or any other state really wants to secede, I think it is proper for them to do so. They just might have to fight for it.
