I agree with the logic. If someone keeps getting to the rim giving them a nice, hard, playoff-style foul is a great idea. Unfortunately for Ericka he opened his mouth and basically said "Dictator Stern, make sure the refs T me up if I give anything other than a touch foul."

Of course, this is Ericka we are talking about so I doubt he will even be brave enough to get physical with a guy 100 lbs lighter than he is. I think we can expect a cheap, dirty foul from Josh Howard, however.

Dampier has said a lot over the years for a scrub. This has to be at the top of the list, expect Parker to come out trying to put another dazzling performance on the Mavs now.

I doubt a simple hard foul is all that effective as a defensive tool unless you actually injury a player and make him sit out the game.

To me, it seems that players get fouled hard pretty often and, for the most part, seem quite satisfied to just step up to the line and get 2 easy points. They tend to keep on driving after drawing fouls rather than stop.

So its stupid to assume most teams should be able to stop Tony Parker from scoring 19 points on them in the first quarter of a playoff game?

LOL! League is reviewing Ericka's comments. Probably a fine is coming. Now, I dare Ericka to put Parker "on his back" with his 1st foul in Game 3. :)

Are you serious? Couple of weeks ago, Shaq tells Robin Lopez to put somebody on his back if he tries to dunk on you. Nothing happens other than "hahah Shaq is so classic omgz we luv ur marketability" from David Stern/Stu Jackson.

Now that scrub Dampier is promising a hard foul, the league wants to take his money? Ugh, the NBA is becoming such a pansy league that it is disgusting. And here I was, excited at watching the intensity of the Portland/Houston game and seeing people diving for the ball with no fouls being called.

diving for the ball = Center talking about laying out a 6ft point guard?

Shaq laid Parker out last year in the playoffs, only he wasn't dumb enough to announce it to the world that he was going to do that. Parker responded by laying 41 in Game 3 in Phoenix.

It's a good thing the Mavs still have Steve Nash to go toe-to-toe with Parker. Oh wait.....

My thoughts exactly. Back in the day I remember Mo Taylor, Juwan Howard and even Francis would dish out some hard fouls to send a message. Roy is going flop anyway so might as well make him feel it. A couple of those will make him think twice about coming into the lane.

everyone tends to forget that if you thought of something the folks in the bball world already discussed it 100x

but never hurts to try it out at least once

Of course, Kenny doesn't know anything about that. Easy to say in the studio after you are retired.

No kidding. What an idiotic thing to say by a first class A-Hole. You just don't say something like that out loud. He's asking for a freakin' riot in SA.

Kenny drove the lane plenty. Remember his football cradle of the ball to avoid getting stripped?

Here are some numbers from his first two years with the Rockets, before Rudy T took over:

    1990-1991 - 1003 attempts, 13.5% from 3
    1991-1992 - 910 attempts, 15.0% from 3
