Thank you for losing the series for us. Guys, don't put any stock in what Tmac says. This guy is horrible with the media. If we judged him by just what he said in the media... he'd be considered worse than Artest. This doesn't even crack the top 10 on the "****ed up things Tmac said" list honestly.

With all respect, as a long-time board member and contributing member, I really disagree with the timing of this thread. It's a good cause, but a bad time. Still, I voted in the poll, and I say the Rockets have a good chance. Things happen in a 7 game series.
Let me just say this once. This poll was in response to Tmac's lack of faith in his own team. It originated from my annoyance of his recent interview. The purpose of this poll was to see if this rockets board thought we had a chance against the Lakers. And almost 90% think we do. That is all I wanted to know and it has served it's purpose for me. If the moderators want to close this thread because many people think this is bad karma please do it now. I don't believe in that crap but I do understand how some do. This Rocket team is not like others of late and will not lose this series. And if they do please feel free to come flame me! That is all hi have to say now.

Just because someone believes there's a chance doesn't mean they expect it to happen. Of course I think we CAN win, but I'll be Britney Spears if would pick us to win it all. No one hands a conference title to a team just because of their reputation. See the Showtime Lakers, defending champion version, circa 1985-86. A Houston Rockets team defeated them in 5 games and took Larry Bird's Celtics of that season, arguably the best team to ever lace them up, to 6 games. So hell yes, we have a good chance.
Come on, do you read the poll? I am also one of them who said we have a slim chance to win, you want to say "No chance" How do you know? Kobe could be injured during the game, everything could happen.
I never said I was classy but I never called anyone anything who didn't call me something first. Okay I don't know if that makes sense. But I made it clear the purpose of this thread. Now I don't care anymore about it . So if you know how to close it than you have my blessing! But the other way to make it go away would be to stop posting in it. I won't post here again to help in this way. I advise you to do the same if you hate this thread as much as you claim. You see it works like this: if no one posts here anymore than it will go down and disappear and you will forget about tomorrow. Try it out.
any team has a chance. you never know what happens with injuries... but realistically, which we all have to be, no. i think it'll be a VERY tough series b/c our defense will keep us in games. there will be no blowouts. every game will be a grind. i hope we take them to 7 though.
ok, how about we give you the facts. we were SWEPT by them during the reg. season. and it's by the SAME theme: kobe bryant. we played one out-of-this-world game and you get annoyed by something tracy said? please. if we played like we did v. the blazers in game 1, yes, we're the best team in the league. what are the chances of that? be realistic and tell me. but what i do know is our team is going to fight, battle, and play their hearts out till any series is over and that's all you can ask for.
We actually did a much better job against Kobe before Artest got here. Hopefully Adelman catches on to that and puts Battier on him... this is why we have played the Lakers pretty well before this season. If that happens, and if Battier's regular season success against Kobe continues in the post season (or if Artest can get Kobe out of his head), then yeah, we have a chance to beat the Fakers.
I think we have a decent chance (>40%). Only the sky is the limit if Yao can be officiated in the way that he deserves. However, that may be jeopardized by refereeing due to: 1. LA is a larger market than Houston 2. The league needs Lakers vs Cavaliers in the finals to create another "Jordan" I say we have 30% chance.
