If we hit a snag in the Ming negotiations

    Just for fun!

    Houston trades #1 and Cat
Houston recieves #6 and Barron Davis

With #6 we can draft Caron Butler, Tityvill or Woods. We now have a starting back court of Davis and Francis with draft pick (Butler) at the three. That blows last years backcourt away. We still have #15 to get a Stodamire or Nene.

    PG Davis Mooch
SG Francis pick #37 (Jaun Dixon?)
SF Draft pick#6 (Caron Butler, Tityvill or Woods) Tmo
PF Griffin Mo T Kenny T
    C Cato Draft pick #15(Stoudamire)

We have the exception to add depth. :)

    Cleveland trades A Mller #6
Cleveland recieves #1 pick and Mobley

Cleveland send off potential max salery and get to start a rookie contract all over again in JW, and a very cheap but productive SG. If JW is as good as advertized this is a much improved backcourt.

    Charlott trades Barron Davis
    Charlott recieves Andre Miller

Well one of the best for one of the best!

Everyone wins except Charlott who IMO breaks even.

Mobley and the #1 for all but 5 or 6 players in the whole league is overpaying even with the #6 pick thrown in. Baron Davis is not one of these players. This does not address our center position at all. Butler may be gone by 6. This would give us a project at the 3 and a backup to Cato with the 15 pick. Francis/Davis is not much better than Francis/Mobley. This does not improve us for next year. If we are going to get a project player anyway, we should just use the damn pick. Charlotte does not do this deal anyway.

Aren't you the one that dissed my Clipper idea a few days back? You know, the one that everyone is discussing now (in some shape or form)? I find that to be very interesting.

Why don't you post a trade scenario that meets a need rather than adding to all the BS scenarios we already have?

    I would do this trade.

    Memphis receives #1 and Griffin

Houston receives Gasol, Odom and obligation for 1st rd next year is forgotten.
    Houston receives #8 and #12
Clippers receive #4, #32 and future 2nd rounder from Rockets

It's a good trade for the Rockets, but Memphis wouldn't want to give up Gasol, and the Clippers would laugh at this deal.
I thnk that Memphis might give us Battier and the number 4 for the number 1,but that would be a bad deal for the Rockets, although I'm worried that Rudy might agree to it.

Boy Possum - you are really taking a chance recommending trading ClutchCity favorite son Mobley.

ha ha ha, please tell me that is a joke!

why on earth would the clips trade, essentially, 3 lottery picks (odom was a lotto selection too) for the #4 and two 2nd round picks? the sterling/baylor combo is nutty, but no one in the world is that crazy!

If Golden State decides they're set on Jason Williams and offered us the #3 and their 2003 #1 pick for the #1, would the Rockets do it? At #3 we could pick up Butler or Dunleavy and next year we would have a probable lottery pick/shot at LeBron James. It makes more sense than losing hair over Yao's situation, would let us fill a need, and would give us security in next year's draft with the Memphis situation. I think the Rockets would have to make this deal.

First off did you read the second line of my post? Just for fun.
Please do not think I was serious. I was just having fun! That’s why I come here. I don’t want to defend my trade proposal to much because I WAS JUST HAVING FUN but Baron Davis is one of the premier point guards in the NBA. IMHO he rates rite up there with Francis. For you to say, "Francis/Davis is not much better than Francis/Mobley" well that's just silly.

I have no idea what you are talking about. If you would like to point it out to me I would be glad to give you my opinion on why I "dissed" your trade. However I find it interesting/amusing that you think you are responsible for all the talk about the idea of trading with the Clippers. People have been talking about trading with the Clippers since the day of the lottery.

Once again, because I was having fun! :p

I didn't say I originated the Clipper idea, just that I had one. Perhaps you should brush up on your reading comprehension.

Trading our #1 to get another point guard seemed silly to me. I just gave what I got.

Maybe you should make yourself a little clearer next time. You said my Clipper idea the one that everyone is discussing now (in some shape or form). Maybe you should brush up on your writing skills.
Anyway about YOUR CLIPPER IDEA. Their are many reasons why I'm against trading the first pick to the Clippers. Unless it's straight up for Brand.:)

#1. Odom has too many off court and health issues. If he didn't the Clippers wouldn't be talking about trading him.

#2. Kandi is way overrated. We don’t need another overpaid under achiever.

#3. The 1st pick in the draft is a small gamble. The #8 and #12 is a crapshoot. Why lesson the odds for Odom (see #1) or Kandi (see #2).

#4. We have to compete with the Clippers for the playoffs. They already give the Rockets a hard time. Imagine them with JW at the point. That’s a scary team to me.

Oh yeh, this is my thread and I’ll keep it open as long as I want. If you don't like it don't read it! :p
