Chris Waddle, Nash's idol, that magic left foot of his. But I bet some of you younger fans probably have never heard of him. This is my point between HOF good and just good. Not saying Waddle is as good as C.R, but Waddle in the 80s was a big star lauded by Pele as the best dribbler he had ever seen.

The best year of today's soccer world really doesn't mean much to me. I miss Good old 80s, when soccer countries were still relatively isolated. World cup was like eye popping experience, some one of those great one came onto scene relatively unknown. These days just too many games.

I think Ronaldo is the best in the world right now. He has the speed, strength, dribbling, and scoring abilities.

Messi - less strength and scoring ability than Ronaldo. Better in other areas, but Ronaldo better overall.

Ibrahimovic - Has the scoring and strength, but Ronaldo has more speed with and without the ball.

Torres - great but just has not put it all together it seems.

Gerrard - Great striker but not as good/quick with the ball.

I think Ronaldo just has the complete package. I pick him to be the best overall player, but soccer is a team game so those other guys could easily play an equal role, or close to, with their respective clubs.

    Also...what about Eto'o and Kaka?

He's the best in the world for now but in soccer that generally lasts only a couple years.
