Clyde is a Rocket and a Houstonian. Notice he is playing golf with members of the Blazers franchise. He is doing that to get their game plan for game 2 and give it to Rick Adelman.

Oh he's just being polite, what is he supposed to say? If anything, Clyde would be more of a traitor to them...He did wear Rockets gear instead of portland when they did announce the NBA's 50 greatest players.

Yay! Hopefully Drexler played with with the Blazers staff and got a full time job as an announcer for them next season! :p

he was playing for Houston at the time...

Also, how can clyde be allowed to cheer for another team? Announcers have been known to get fired if they weren't 'homer' enough

Drexler and Adelman are Blazer legends.
Despite what they do for the Rockets, they are more well known for what they did with the Blazers (2 NBA Finals).

Eh, so what? He had a pretty good run in Portland, I have no doubt he is still fond of the team. Just like Horry and many former Rockets are still fond of Houston despite finding success in other cities.

Well besides one or two sport commentators but you can't win them all.

Besides supporting multiple teams at the same time is like dating multiple girls at once. If you spread the love around fairly, evenly and you don't rub their faces in the fact that there is another, it is all good.

Steve Francis did not play for the Wizards and is not a Washington Wizards legend.

    You guys are so blinded...

Like every other Drexlerism, this is just Clyde trying to be funny.

It also works to psych out the young Blazers team.

This was a genius move. Clyde is a consummate professional.

The real question is does Gerald Green cheer for Dallas or Houston?

Good catch. Obviously this guy is not a Blazers fan nor did he even see the game. Probably some 12 year old in Iowa.

    lol...

As a previous poster said, he is an integral part of both franchises, he has the right to say "we" and "us" when referring to either Houston or Portland.
