Great game Rockets, Good to see a solid performance, best of the season. Good luck and play well for the rest of the series. From a fan from Australia. Cheers.
I am as shocked at this game as I was the Dallas game. I expected neither outcome. When was the last time Yao looked that intense? I know he has had a few perfect shooting nights, but when did he last play with that intensity? When is the last time Brooks looked like an All Star PG? When is the last time the team shoot 60% for the entire game!? Frankly, they looked like a different team. Can they keep it up? I don't know, but if they can very good things are going to happen. And one more thing, Scola was a beast and the team defense was perhaps the best of the year.
Houston's starters outscored the Blazers' starters 94-43!!! I liked AB0 before... but 27 points (game high) on 10 of 17 shooting?!!!! He embarrassed them. 7 assists!!!! (game high) where are all the haters now? Do you still miss refer?
IMO,maybe Yao is the most important person of Rockets team,But I think Ron Artest is The Cultch man of Rockets, who decides the match trend,If he plays well, Ok, Rockets will get the win,Instead, the same!
Blazer fans comments... lol. The game was close until the first quarter. Houston is tougher and meaner than we are, and they pretty much own the glass. Just don't know what to say... But, I did tell you not even the Lakes wanted to deal with the Rockets. They are a b**** to defend and VERY physical on defense. Good luck Zers..could not have picked a worse team in the first round. It was and is a mistake to look past Houston to LA. we were having a pep rally while they were reviewing film. enough said... I have to admit I really enjoyed watching Aaron Brooks tonight. Best player at oregon since Greg ballard in 72. he was un stoppable. SPEED KILLS and then YAOUCH!!! Bring out the brooms???? there's more http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2009/04/rockets_drop_blazers_10881_in.html
Game 2 will virtually be a win or leave battle for the Blazers. It must be a close dogfight in there. They are almost certainly to front and double team Yao down the stretch. So no letting up please Rockets men. If we win the next one, its highly possible a sweet sweep. Go ROX!!!
They'll be back for A Brooks until he gets pretty consistent. I always thought he'd have a great Portland series with his Oregon roots... people also tend to forget what a fantastic NCAA tournament player he was. I have been thinking he might have a different playoff gear based on his college career.
So - what kind of adjustments should we expect from Portland? I don't think that we'll be seeing single coverage on Yao, and if you can believe it I think that the Blazers will actually be fouling him harder on every play (not that they'll be called). I think that they're going to try to bully Yao...which I don't think will work that well, especially if we have a hungry Cookie Monster coming in off the bench to spell him. Aldridge had been killing us all season, but Luis took care of him for much of the game tonight. I think that the Blazers are going to go back and look at old tapes and really feed the ball to Aldrige in Game 2. We're going to need more out of Landry to help counter that.
The broadcasters were shocked that the Rockets were running with the Blazers, but the Rockets love to run, it's the opponents that try to slow the game down. By the way, it is hilarious seeing Jazz fans bragging that the Rockets don't want to see Utah. This Rockets team would beat the crap out of Utah this year. Hopefully the Rockets continue to take care of business and Utah upsets the Lakers in the first round. The Jazz fans talk about continuing the Rockets first round losses, it would be sweet to continue the Jazz's title-less streak.
If the Blazers double Yao then that would be suicide. The Rockets have to many weapons for the Blazers not to use single coverage on the Rockets. I think the Blazers plan was to run but the Rockets can run to. And the Rockets actually have a PG and good ball-handlers to run the break, Roy and Blake are going to have trouble running the break.
i believe we can beat the crap out of Jazz too, but i seriously do not want to see their fans and energy solution center and have to deal with all the ref cheating flopping crap! let the lakers deal with that *****
Me too. I guess they learned from the Dallas game. Well, a bad loss may be a good thing; A blowout does not guarantee a next win either.
I think this game did something for Yao. I also saw Artest reel himself in. Now we need to win a close game and definately take care of business at home. If we win game 2 the Blazers are ripe for the broom. Now I have to try and go preach a sermon without bringing up the Rockets My wife is yelling at me "get off Clutchfans you are going to be late for church Later!!!!!!
