Compared to a-holes that we dealt with the Mavs and Jazz, Blazers are a lot more respectable. I know they are our playoff opponents, and i want us to win, but lets compare here. We had to deal with those flopping, cheating, foul a minute Utah j*zz for the last 2 yrs. And then they had their loud, insanely racist mormon fans spewing hate during the games. Against Dallas in 05', all they had to do was show Cuban's weasel face, and I would just punch a hole in the wall. He and his ref whining were the reason we lost that series. But Portland, man oh man, they were one of the prouder franchises in the NBA, and they fell into the Jailblazer years. I am as a bball fan, happy to see them start winning again. THey have a bunch of high character guys, and Kevin Pritchard did an amazing job building through the draft. The play the right way, they don't play dirty, and I again really respect them. Def less hate for me compared with Jazz and Mavs.

I agree, i'm very happy we don't have to deal with the flipping, flopping, cheap, trashy, worthless, useless, lousy, dirty, rotten, horrible, mormon, hideous, repulsive, mother disrespecting, two faced, obnoxious, ugly, foul, ref-paying...Did I mention they Flop...Jazz.

As for the Mavericks...I never really cared, i'd rather play them than the Jazz that is for sure.

Vanilla Manilla Gorilla or whatever the hell they call him up there is a flopper though.

I agree, they have won one NBA championship back in 72 also.

Quite a nice franchise, after all our coach led them also, I hope he can do something similar with Rockets in the playoffs.

While they are our opponent, they are our enemy.

Mercilessness is the only acceptable position when you haven't got out of the first round for 12 friggin' years!!!

Get them down and then stomp on the twats heads.

    Kind of is.

One of the worst floppers I've seen. Meaning, all his flops are very unrealistic, but yet, the refs tend to fall for it.

I watched a lot of their games this year, they were the team I wanted to watch whenever the Rockets were not on...because they are so athletic and entertaining and also because of Brandon Roy & Lemarcus Aldridge, those guys are good.

Not to mention Rudy is a fun player to watch as well.

DD, that is right on, I think they are the most fun team to watch in the NBA. I love the way they play. But, I won't if they are beating up on the Rockets. One thing is for sure, they are super tough at home, 34-7. Home court was critical in this series, and Battier was right too. When you don't show up for the lottery teams it is going to cost you. I wrote about this habit all season long. Right now, the only way the Rockets redeem themselves is to win the West.

Don't get me started.....Ron and Tracy lead the "it is a crap team" charge for the first half of the year...and it cost the Rockets a realistic chance.

    FRIGGEN maddening.

That's fine as fans to have respect, but it's PLAYOFF time. It's time to disregard our surrounding and march towards the trophy.

I just hope Yao does not share the same feelings because he is a totally different player when he's mad at the opponent. This should be easy though...

Although the Blazers do have players that you can respect, Przbylla is a flopping piece of feces (in basketball terms) that flops around everytime Yao touches it...Joel's gameplan is easy: Get Yao in foul trouble by any means neccessary.

Let's respect the opponent before and after the game. Tonight, we have to start getting red!

I agree. Portland is my 2nd favorite team, and I was hoping they could knock off LA somehow thats why I didn't wanna play them 1st round.

portland only has one flopper-pryzbilla. houston just has scola. The rest of the guys are very respectable players that dont really wine or talk a lot they just do their job. Brandon Roy is very underrated and knows the game so well. They play hard and play with heart and most importantly they play as a TEAM. They all have each others back.

a lot of portland fans have been camping out just to watch the game, you can't really hate on the team much.
They are the very similar to our team also. Can run, play halfcourt set, has a deep bench like us, similar offense, good defensive team.
I know the sportsworld will always have a hometown bias when playing other teams, but there isn't much to hate portland about. I was looking at the photoshop thread and there was only a couple pics making fun of Oden.

I got Houston winning in 6 or 7, but if somehow we lose I'm rooting for portland and I think people here should too, because they are the closest team to us.

Pryzbilla the thrilla? He plays okay. He's a good defender but Yao will get his points. I wouldn't call Pryzbilla a flopper he's just a veteran that plays tough, if someone plays really physical Pryzbilla will take a few. Every team has one of those guys.

Not true at all, according to www.basketball-reference.com they've faced each other 16 times. Of the 16 times Houston has won 12 of them and Yao has averaged 19.9 points on a better FG% then what he's done for an average in the NBA, the only problem vs Przybilla is that Yao grabs less (1 rebound) rebounds against him but other then that, Przybilla is just like a random center in the NBA for Yao so it's not something I'm thinking about.
