They should not be there anyway I still cannot understand why it is ok for Females to be in the Mens lockerroom but Males in the Female Locker Room is not kewl [Let the NO LAYUPS guys in the WNBA locker room immediately after the game!] Rocket River
I am sure there are male reporters covering female sports. I don't see what the big deal is, just cover up before you get out there... regardless of who's in the room.
There are but for the most part the male reporters aren't allowed in the WNBA locker rooms. Its a big double standard but as with most of them, race, gender or something else, when it is happening to the group that is has been in power no one does anything.
Bruv, I never stated exactly how many minutes the convo was but if you really want to know I'd say about 15 minutes. She was done with her job and looking for her seats so she could unwind in the 2nd half. I should also add that I'm under no Illusions, I really don't consider myself a proper journo, I'm a bum that discovered a need and is trying to fill it with my blog. And I should add that if you don't think other "serious" journalists do similar stuff then you need to go out to more games. I haven't covered many sporting events but I've seen enough. IROC it, yeah you found it man. Any suggestions, tips from you guys on how to improve my craptastic blog would be appreciated.
If I could cover the Brazilian woman's soccer team from the locker room, I would do it for no money. First link in Google is their Playboy cover.....NSFW DD
We all would my friend, we all would. I'd love to cover women's volleyball as well. There'd be tons of unprofessionalism on my part.
If you get a media pass you should be acting professional. There are others that could use that media pass and wouldn't act that a chauvinistic jacknut by hitting on the halftime act when she really doesn't want to be bothered. Plus your friend who got you the pass is essentially vouching for you so you shouldn't risk getting him in trouble. While a lot of journalists will do it it doesn't mean it is the right thing to do. It also doesn't mean that if a front office person saw you doing it wouldn't get mad and look into who you are and how you got a pass. And from your first post it sounds like you only talked to her manager. So while you may have had a 15 minute convo with her you didn't have a convo with the girl you were hitting on.
