God willing we get past Portland, Are the Lakers infallible?

We matchup as well as you could hope for...

    Aaron Brooks/Derek Fisher
    Shane Battier/Kobe Bryant
    Ron Artest/Trevor Ariza
    Luis Scola/Pau Gasol
    Yao Ming/Andrew Bynum
    ------------------------------------
(Lowry, Landry, Wafer, Deke, Chuck, Barry)(Odom,Brown, Farmar, Sasha, Walton)

The Spurs, Nugs, Mavs, Jazz and Hornets have zero chance in my opinion.
If anyone scares the Lakers in the West, it will come in the second round, with the Rockets or the Blazers.
Assuming our guys are all playing well after sweeping the Blazers:), do we have a fighting chance in LALA land?

If we get pass the first, we will take out the Lakers. Of course that is if the Jazz don't upset the Lakers.

I don't think they can be beat. The only shot the Rockets have is that Artest/Battier can wear Kobe down over the course of the series so that he isn't able to turn into Superman should the Rockets still be around in a game 6 or 7. It's a very, very long shot but it's possible I suppose.

My gut tells me the the only team that can even take them to 7 games is Cleveland and they won't beat LA either.

They're beatable, as given by them having losses this year, but it's really hard. I don't think it will happen, honestly. I think the Lakers will be in the NBA finals and winning it all.

But uhh, it'd be totally awesome if we beat them and I'll certainly be rooting for that!

Who knows Bynum could step on Kobe's ankle and they both go out for the remainder of the playoffs...Anything can happen.

it's one thing to root for your team and believe in them..... it's another to try and reason that the rockets have a decent chance at beating the lakers.

we cant be the lakers. it would take 4 horrible games from kobe while simultaneously having 4 perfect games from our entire squad to beat the lakers.

Stern will not let anything stand in the way of Rapist/Lebron in June.

the only way to be the laker is to at least win one of the first two game. If we lose both away games, our team will not have any confidence to play.

ONLY WAY TO BEAT LAL IS TO WIN ONE OF THE FIRST TWO GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really think that the Rockets can match up the best with the Lakers.

Although the Blazers had the Lakers numbers at home, I don't think they can keep up with the Lakers in a best-of-7 series.

If (and when) we get past the Blazers, I think we'll take the Lakers to 7. It's anyone's game there.

Perhaps we can learn something from Portland gameplan as they almost swept the Lakers this season.

Perhaps we can learn something from out last 6 playoff attempts and not look to series 2 until AFTER the last horn sounds on win 4??

You must have those Artest rose colored glasses on when you started this thread, we did not beat them once during the regular season 0-4 and you expect the Rox to beat them in the playoffs. The Blazers have a chance, they whip LA in their house. I just want the Rox to have a chance to prove me wrong by getting past Portland.

iirc, the last 2 games we played, we were neck and neck in the 4th quarter until kobe decided to light us up with 3s. i say contain kobes late 3s and we might have a chance
