Being a Rocket fan is like building your character in the hood. It's all good. It has been that way for more than 10 years.
Great thread! Let out all the bad feelings now... And get ready for the first round! Some of us can do this quicker than others. "We've moved on." -Shane Battier
I'm fine. I really wanted to win and get #3 and delay facing the Lakers. But, since we can't win a championship without going through the Lakers, I suppose it doesn't matter in the end if we do it in round 2 or 3.
It was going from excitement and looking forward to the Playoffs to extremely low key and sad. The most devastating loss beside losing the previous Playoffs series because this win gives you so much advantage. The dagger is knowing that if this team has a smarter coach, this loss would not have happened. Coach Rick Adelman is stupid, arrogant and clueless by insisting on having Scola out there and pretty much doing the Mavs a favorite. IF it's JEFF VAN GUNDY, he wouldn't even play Scola 3mins into the 3rd quarter. IT is really pathetic coaching that really cost us big time last night.
No kidding. I had to wait to watch the game on the DVR, so I was up late. By the time it was over, I couldn't sleep. I was up until 4am, bummed out. Hard to believe that we had a division title and a possible 2nd seed, and we blew it. With luck, the Rocks got the bad game out of their system and will take it to Portland. Burn the Blazers!
The only way to get rid of this depression is if the rockets surprise us in the 2nd rd by beating the lakers or we can be more depress with another first rd exit by a inexperience playoff team.
In a way it does, if we go to round 3 then we would have more playoff experience that will probably help us win the chip next season.
Last night was one of the most painful losses in Rocket's history, there is no disputing that. It literally made me sick of my stomach watching a 14 point lead melt away. I thought the coaching was awful, Artest was horrible, the whole team embarrassed themselves. With so much riding on a game, how could you so completely blow it?! And to the Mavs? And make Terry the greatest Rockets killer of all time. Disgusting. Now the bad news, I think the Rockets are done. Mentally, they will not come fully back from this colossal stinker. Portland in seven. And now the really bad news, if they do come out of the first round, they will likely be sweep by the Lakers. They lost any hope of a long run in Dallas. I know the "cheerleaders" on the board see it otherwise, and God bless them. Rah Rah Sis Boom Bah!
I hate knowing that as true as it may be. Phil and Pop are masters at what they do. It wasn't until this year with all our below 500 losses where I started respecting them more as much as I hate their teams because their execution is money and ours is like the lottery when teams adjust, we don't. Yea, those coaches slip up time to time but us, one to many. It may sound like I'm ripping my team but I hate how we don't execute or change to how the game is going (when teams front we let them and not counter).
What is it with people that jump all over TRUE ROCKET FANS that get upset or depressed over losses ? I'm so tired of seeing people get bashed just because they post that they were upset after a loss. Hell last night could have been a big night for Houston Rocket fans and the worst case scenario happened. In two games in a row 100 year old Finley hits two 3 pointers that killed the Roxs which one shouldn't have counted. The Nuggets lose and of course the Rockets lose and their goes HCA and the 2nd/3rd seed !!!!! Hell yah I was upset last night and still am today. I will be front row rooting on the Rockets Saturday night but losses still hurt and especially big ones like last night. I'm tired of year in year out the Roxs just do the same thing every year. I've been a fan since 1980 and other than two great years its been exit after exit. So for those Rocket fans that are upset or depressed let it out because thats just your love for a team. None of my family or friends understand why I get down when the Rockets lose but they don't understand the happiness Rockets basketball brings me its a way of life for me and a even a hobby. I'm a High School principal and today all my students were like " don't worrry Mr. H they can still win." The see my T-Mac autographed Jersey in its frame and my Yao figurine and other Rocket memorabilia !! I love my Rockets and my Longhorns like you wouldn't believe and yes I'm a stros and Texans fan but they just don't give me that same feeling
