Be honest, we are fortunate to not be facing the Jazz or Mavs

The two lower seeded teams that would have definitely given us the most trouble, we do not have to face. No more Dirk flopping, no more Cuban screaming and scaring the refs, no more Jason Terry hitting 90% of his shots, no more Okur flopping and hitting dagger 3's, no more Boozer pushing off everytime to get rebounds, no more AK-flopping, and no more Deron daggers. WE are facing a young team who I think is the 2nd best choice we could have gotten. The most ideal matchup would have been NO, but Portland was second. We have been playing better on the road, and with our defense, we can slow Portland down. They are like a younger version of us, they don't score that many points; alot less offensively dangerous than Dallas or Utah , around 98.5, they are a jumpshooting team. We have a defensive stopper for each of their best scorers, so all we have to do is put up enough friggin points to win, which has been too much to ask this season

I rather face Portland yes and i hope the Lakers and the Spurs can knock off Utah and Dallas.

    They should be able to..
but i still rather face the Hornets. Their crowd is not as crazy.

Rebuild all over if they can't beat Blazers, this is the year to pass the 1st round

when we get past 1st round our critics will then say... it was because they played a young team... then we'll have to reprove ourselves all over again if we lose the second round. No one wants to take the Rockets as a viable threat, it's very obvious.

Yup, we are fortunate. However, home court advantage would've been nice. Another positive, if we get past the first round, is facing the Lakers now rather than in the Conference Finals.

My urge to kill goes down significantly when we play the Blazers, which is good for everyone here.

What you are saying is be honest we are fortunate enough to make playoffs. Do you believe that? If so step of the Rocket Wagon.

We are better than our record and our record is a game behind the second best. Can you imagine how better our record would have been if Tmac would have come back to top form or even never played a game. I can count three losses directly related his lack of energy. And what about the losses just trying to adjust to him being out and then in and then out. And then the losses because Landry was out and now Landry is still adjusting his game back to form. ANd what about Battier, and Artest season beginning injuries. And then the trade and readjustment of a new floor leader. That is certainly still a work in progress.

Do you really think the Jazz and Mavericks are better than this current Rocket group. If you do let me advise you they to a player would disagree with big time. They now their abilities and the adversity of one of the toughest NBA schedules this year. They now they are better than the Jazz and Mavericks. They know they can compete with LA. So inspite of your negativity I can assure the Rockets, while disapponted about last nights loss they are excited about the playoffs. And saying bring on the next opponent. We are ready!

I agree Portland is a better match up than Dallas.
But the question is would you rather paying Dallas with HOME COURT, or Portland without?

hey the team put themselves in this position long ago by losing to memphis and other weak teams. they need to deal with it and prepare for it.

Be careful what you wish for. Let's wait until this series is over before declaring the Rockets "fortunate" to be facing the Blazers. I'll "be honest" about it after we beat them.

Then in Round 2 (if they make it), the Rockets will be "fortunate" to face the Lakers instead of the Nuggets.

Seriously, any way you slice it, last night's scenario was likely the worst-case.

Nate is old school, he wants to play his way and make us adjust. The Blazers have all the tools (shooting 4's) to give us the same trouble that the Jazz and Mavs do.

The question is whether or not Nate will go to the gimmick fronting defense and small lineups that pester Yao. They have a good chance to win if they do that.

Agreed, and as I'm learning more and more about the Blazers, I think we can really beat them.

We don't deserve any positive recognition till we earn it which we haven't done yet. If the Rockets were not your team and they hadn't made it past the first round in 10 years you wouldn't even make them the favorites over the the Blazers. We are just "fools gold" in the eyes of Charles Barkley and others. The point is we as fans and the players of course should not care what others say. If we handle business like we are supposed to (but have not done yet) we will get our props...

No he's right,if we would have won, then we would have gotten the #2 seed, and played Hornets. But who knows, Denver knew they had teh 2 seed locked in , so they tanked in the 2nd half, if we would have won, they mighta tried harder and beat Portland.

If we would have won, wouldn't the Mavs have ended up in 7th? or do they have the tiebreaker against New Orleans?
