Whats the big deal? So what if the Rose Garden is an unbeatable place...We faced the freakin Jazz two straight years in the playoffs, and each year we lost at Energy Solutions all but three times. The Rose Garden is not that bad as them since the Trailblazers opened The Rose Garden in 1995 we have been:
    13-13 win% of 50%

Since Delta Center opened in 1991 we have been terrible over there including playoffs going:
    13-39 win% of 20%

It is not impossible for us to at least win one game, while the playing at the Jazz has ust been horrible.

Probably I would. But he did hit the buzzbeater and we lost. Yes, Houston would do everything to prevent Roy a similar shot in the playoff, but Portland would also do everything to deprive Yao of a chance to repeat his last three-point play at Portland.

This year we don't have a PG like Deron Williams to worry about, I'm liking our chances against Portland :p

I assume the Rockets will finish the series in game 5, otherwise they would turn it around with their advantage in strength.

in order to win, yaos not the only one that has to step up. in previous two games against them, everyone on the team did well. It really takes team effort to beat this young portland team.

Rockets in 6. Tonight is a signal, Lowry will get more chance more Brooks. But Artest is still a problem, we need him to turn on Warrior Mode.

Losing HCA was a killer. Seems the Rockets just don't have whatever "killer extinct" is required to win in the playoffs. I sensed it before the game when players (eg Battier) were saying the game wasn't all that important, that the final games weren't as important as the playoffs.

Could you imagine Kobe or MJ or Magic saying something like that? Heck, those guys hate losing anything... let alone the last games of the season that would secure HCA.

Until the Rockets get that sort of player, they will be satisfied with just getting into the playoffs... :(

good feeling about this matchup. Yes more ppl need to step up besides Yao who is going to play a major role. Our D will kill them, as good as Aldridge is whos there number 2 we are really good at stopping him. Von Wafer plays good against his old teams so this is a + and he will be needed to get hot if we want to beat them once and maybe even twice at their place. Very doable, we have their numbers. Good feeling go Rockets.

Rockets in 7. I think we take the first game outta the gate.I was reading Portland's realgm page earlier. How refreshing it was to see knowledgable and respectfull fans post, unlike a certain douche bag team with jack-A!@ fans.

The 7th game will not occur. Brandon Roy looked like he tweaked a knee during the Denver game. Plus this current group has never been in the playoffs. Trust me this young group will get tight and the shots that fell in the regular season will not fall in the playoffs.

Don't let Outlaw or Fernandez get going and we win in 6. Our starting lineup gives them fits and hopefully artest can get it started.

    Portland in 7.

I have concerns about Yao being fronted and not being able to get the ball late in games.

    Should be a fun series.

We have to win one of the first 2 games at Portland. If we lose both, I don't see us coming back from that. But, I believe in our team (unlike 10-20% of the people voting here), we can win this.

If we can't figure out how to score against a defense that fronts Yao, we deserve to loss. You can look up strategies on google or any good high school coach.

I picked Portland is 7 as well. The Rockets match up pretty well with them since they don't have a supertough PG and may have enough big men into fooling themselves into playing Yao strait for a while, but they will wear us out (younger, more athletic) and get better as they figure out how to take away Yao.
