Forget about all the pipe dreams of Garnett, Odom, Kandi, or Lewis, eventhough in earlier posts i was advocating them, i woke up. The most we are gonna get out of the #1, at least in a year like this(where ther is no clear top pick), is other picks, kinda like what Houston did with Nj last year(Houstons #13,#18,& #23 for NJ's #7). So we trade the #1 to the clips for their #8, #12, and #41.

    #8 - Butler

    #12 - Tschivilli or Nene(if he's there)

    #15 - Ely or Stoudemire

    #38 - Dixon or Prince

#41 - Songalia(the guy played in the olypics and won a bronze) or Jacobsen

    #53 - Christoffersen or Humphrey.

last step, we release, langhi, williams, willis, torres, and brown.
If we can add trading Norris, Rice, Collier and Taylor, and getting some other players's we
    ll be ok.

I hate to say it but this was a bad year for us to get the #1, the draft is deep, but lacks impact players. If we go this route we are getting alot more players, and any one of them can step up and contribute. Intead of gambling everything on one unproven player(Ming), why no trade picks and fill positions, and add depth to the bech. We're not gonna make the playoff's this year, with or without Ming or Dunleavy, let's prepare for the future.

    How do you figure?

Teams would kill for a shot at Jason Williams or Yao Ming.

I don't agree with your value of our number 1 pick but if we traded for all of those picks then I would take the following:

#8 Tsiki or Butler if one of them is still there. If not Bochardt.

#12 I take Stoudemire if I landed a small forward at 8 if not I take Nachbar.

#15 Jeri Welsch, a Euro that plays good D for a change and still has the good Euro fundamentals and sweet stroke.

#38 Nenad Krstic, I draft this guy and let him play another year or two before I bring him over.

#41 Zaur Pachulia another Euro teen ager that has size. He stays in Europe for a couple of year before he gets a chance to come over.

    #53 Faith Solak

it not so much who we take the picks. I'm just saying that the teams that need J will are the same teams tha are in the rebuildind process, and inorder for them to get him they'd have to give up a star, something they desperatley can't do. So they end up offering us Hyped up crap players, and we like dumbass take them(kinda like we gave into the pressure of resigning taylor, or taking on Rice.)Would you give up a francis for a #1, cuz that's what you're asking other teams to do? That kinda defeats the purpose of rebulding if you give up your star. Atleast this way we get more players, and we get them cheap, it's just less of a gamble to me that's all.

if we do what i suggest with the picks, and laso get rid of RIce and Taylor, it leaves lots of cap room for us to go after free agents in 2003 here is the list.

As soon as we land the #1 pick, it suddenly mean so little?

We have THE #1 pick in this season's draft, the team needs to take advantage of this good fortune.
