well they definitely werent louder than the opponent's the last 2 years i saw them. dont see how this year they can match a team making the playoffs after 7 years
Again the fronting wasn't the issue at all. He dominated the fronting in the first half because he demandED his postion and was agressive and we went with the game plan and that was to play off of Yao. Second half the MAVS did the same thing we were just impatient in our sets.We settled for long jump shots and force plays that were not there. We do thsis eveery game when we are up big and every big game with the bulls, lakers etc etc etc etc. WE FAIL TO EXECUTE AND BIG REASON IS OUR GUARDS AND HEAD COACH
Jason kidd.. J.J. Barrera.. or Chris Paul.. or Roy.. good luck with putting all your eggs in that basket..
The best thing about this matchup is that we do not have to stop an ELITE point guard. I think that is what has allowed us to excel against the Blazers so far this season. This is going to be an unbelievable series. I look for it to be like last year's first round with Utah, except this time we are the road team. Rockets in 6.
Don't be to sure of yourself. To my memory, every team that has gone to that strategy in the 2nd half of a game came out winning it. We're too vulnerable to it, McMillan will include it. When teams don't front, we build leads. As soon as they do, we shoot ourselves out of the game.
i kinda agree. all these years rockets aren't really good with playing with their favour in the playoffs. like the HCA last year vs jazz, the 3-1 lead over DAL. rockets seem to **** their pants when it comes to games that they are SUPPOSED to win. tonight vs DAL was an example without HCA is actually an away court advantage for the rockets. sometimes i feel like rockets play better as an underdog kinda thing..
the Mavs should have tanked this game, now they have to play the spurs. The spurs will probably sweep them. If they lost they could have gotten to play the Nuggets or Rockets. Sucks for them. Im happy our 2 biggest rivals (Jazz and Mavs) will be swept in the first round Im happy the Rockets get the Blazers, it was the best possible match-up. A team with 0 playoff experience, we have their number, and we have confidence against them. Having home-court adv means nothing. It actually takes the pressure off of us and puts it on them. They have to go out and win the first two. I have no doubt we will win one of the first two and take care of them at home.
Portland is looking very scary right now...They're raining threes like no other and they're dominating in the paint...Good thing we have Artest, Battier, and Yao....
well let's just hope the rockets win just one of the first two, because if we win all 2 the pressure will be on us again and evidently this squad can't handle it.
Does anyone honestly think the Blazers can handle our defense under a pressure playoff situation (Come on their PG is Steve Blake). We will frustrate them early and often. They won't be getting the open 3s or easy shots that they are used to getting. I feel bad we have to beat this young team that I actually like, but oh well; we have to get ours first.
Blake is not flashy, he is just efficient...and in the Clutch Brandon Roy is their PG. I want Houston to win, but do not feel all that strongly about them right now. DD
Blazers trying to send us a message with this win? This team is starting to worry me now...a little bit.
If you guys thought Dallas fans were loud, wait til you hear Portland. They will make the Toyota Center feel like a golf tournament.
portland is a young team, youngest in the league as a matter of fact, and most of the roster have not been in the playoffs. i have a feeling they wont cope well under pressure during the first round. that an advantage that our first round veterans will have over them
