uhh guys, hate to burst your bubble and all, but if the Blazers win (which looks likely) we are probably going to be playing the Spurs, NOT the Blazers...

Portland won the season series with San Antonio. The NBA rules are the top 4 teams (meaning 3 division winners and a wildcard). So if Portland wins they will be the 3 seed (The Spurs and Blazers will have the same record and the Blazers own the head to head tiebreaker). If Portland loses they will be on the road against Houston because we own the tie breaker.

i think the 1st tiebreak is division championship. since portland and san antonio will be tied, san antonio wins the tiebreak on the merit of being southwest champ. therefore, it goes 3. SA 4. POR 5. HOU

No, we will play the Blazers. Even though the Blazers hold the tie breaker against the Spurs, the Spurs are division champs so they will have higher seed. Should they Spurs meet the Blazers down the line, the Blazers would have home court.

The Spurs, by virtue of their division title, will have the tiebreaker over Portland.

No. If both teams win, Blazers and Spurs will have the same record. The No 1 tiebreaker is Division Winner no head-to-head, so the Spurs become No. 3 and Blazers No. 4

Tiebreaker is division crown... then head-to-head matchup.

Didn't realize that. That's even worse. Even a half fit Duncan minus Ginobili is an ominous sign for us.
Edit: Thanks for the correction guys. Still a difficult challenge to surmount.

You know what, I just saw that its going to be a 3 way tie, and therefore the Spurs win that tie breaker...

If Portland wins, there is a three way tie between Denver, San Antonio, and Portland for the 3rd seed. According to the rules, the first tie-breaker in a multi-team tie is to move the division winners up- leaving Denver and San Antonio tied for the 2nd seed. However, Denver owns the tie-breaker over San Antonio, making the Spurs the third seed. Don't believe us, go check out espn.com.
