I think its safe to assume that nobody's going to trade Shaq, Duncan or any other true superstar (as opposed to players that are "superstars" promoted by the NBA).

I'd like to hear what we can come up with as a list of potential trade targets that have the two things we need the most: rebounding and defense.

The I think the list of tough guys is short. Off the top of my head, I can only think of a few quality tough guys: Ben Wallace, Danny Fortson; Antonio McDyess; Scott Pollard; Brian Grant (at least he used to be)

The Rockets roster is pretty nice, but it's too "pretty". We have too many finesse players that aren't willing to go get the damn ball (except Kenny Thomas).

I wonder if CD and Rudy are considering trading down to No. 3 to pick up a Danny Fortson or packaging players and picks to get Antonio McDyess. He's the only player I could identify that could be available (psuedo superstar) and would make us tougher, better rebounders and give us a low post threat.

    Ben Wallace = Untouchable

Antonio Mcdyess = Career Changing injury

Brian Grant = $10 mill going to waste

Scott Pollard = sux(only works in Sac system)

Danny Forston = Best Player you listed, but not worth trading #1

I'd rather see us packaging Taylor or Rice and the #15 for Fortson.

Fortson?? on the worst defensive team in the league? are you serious?

Houston would be a better rebounding team if the other team ever missed... they aren't a bad rebounding team

trading a PF for a PF is kinda silly on a team with a glut of PF's

Houston and LAC - any assortment of deals with picks

Houston and PHX - Marion + 9 for 1 & 15 (sweet but not likely)

that's about it as far as remotely possible trades I would like to see

Actually my wording was "I'd rather" not "I want". It was also in response to the scenario provided. As Far as it being silly. i don think that trading at a $8 mill pf(taylor) for a $4 mill pf(fortson) is such a bad idea atleast from a gm perspective. I too would rather us deal with LAC, if for nothing then for their #8,#12 and #41. Marion Idea is good, though, but unfortuantely it won't happen.
