Way to make Yao cold by not giving him the ball for almost an entire quarter.

Houston can't get a break can they? Even though they've played so well lately one chokejob here and they can lose homecourt and fall all the way down to the 5th seed. sigh.

When you're up 14 points on DAL and you KNOW this game is very important to playoff seeding, you play DEFENSE and try to maintain that lead. I don't care if the dumbass team stops going to Yao for no reason, but DEFENSE should always be there. Instead I saw the most apalling 4th quarter performance the Rockets have played since the Chicago game where no defense or offense was present. Way to choke at the most critical times. I'm so frustrated with how this team has played for the last 5 years. We always end up in these must win situations for some reason and we always manage to lose.

    Because he was fronted.

But hey, that didn't seem to be a problem in the first friggin two quarters was it?

No, this thread is important and notable.

The post-game analysis thread is swarmed, and this was the last game of the season. It was a horrible game.

    Here's my DON'Ts

    1. Don't let Artest take all the 3's.

    2. Don't let the defense go down the *****ter by letting the same play happen the same time more than twice. i.e., Lowry's man was Terry. A simple pick-n-roll ruined the defense of the rockets.

    3. Don't forget to rotate the damn roster when players go cold.

    Here's my DOs

    1. Do think about putting in bench players when your starters are tired and can't keep up with the young'ins on the field.

    2. Do play tight defense at the last quarter. Keep a body on the offensive players, no matter if it risks a foul.

Here come the playoffs... I hope we make it through this 1st round of playoffs.

    This is sad really.

San Antonio wins the division AGAIN and since we lost...Denver really has no reason to play and Portland is at home.

    5th seed, going to Portland.

This thread should be about going for 50+ wins for three consecutive seasons.

Not about you complaining in a new thread with a comment that can go in the post game thread.

This was before he was fronted. They went 7 minutes in the 3rd without even looking at Yao. And this was immediately after a dominant first half and getting Dampier in foul trouble at the beginning of the third.

problem is, there was a guy named brandon bass fronting him rendering it impossible to give yao the ball.

I like how everyone else gets blamed for Yao being to slow for fronting defense.

Are you r****ded? Yao consistently refused to seal off his man. He was completely shut down by an easy to use and effective fronting technique. This is on no one but Yao.

Yao played well in the first half. The second half we just can't find a way to pass the ball inside...... If we can not deal with this kind of defense, we are going nowhere in the playoffs...

They kept his hands so cold that he couldnt box out BRANDON BASS for a short rather than long defensive rebound....go figure

What's the use of 50+ wins if it can't even guarantee home court? I just really want to see this team achieve some success in the playoffs, but when we have such a glaring Achilles' heel, it's really demoralizing...I mean, does any other team get shut down as easily as the Rockets? A fronting defense on Yao and that causes us to blow a 14 point lead? I just can't wrap my head around that man.
