I thought it'd be interesting to see what everbody's favorite performance over the years. Kimberly Locke is still my favorite contestant.

Carrie Underwood doing Heart's Alone.. as soon as she finished singing that one, I decided she was gonna win the whole thing for sure

This is the first one that came to mind for me. I remember being B-L-O-W-N away. It was fantastic. I think one part of it was that no one had any idea how she was going to do in a rock category.

By far this one... with the emotion of winning that gives it the edge.

This is a great song, but it was written for her. And that's yet another problem with this show. The producers pigeonhole someone who will sing their "breakthrough" finale.

I used to truly enjoy this show. But once producers found out they couldn't "pigeonhole" like they used to, it has become more and more corporate. I think it is why Cowell will leave after this season. This show has become crap. Hell, Star Search was a FAR better way to find good talent.

The point of this thread is not to tell people you don't watch the crap. I'm just saying. Because frankly, nobody really cares what your musical tastes are. Thank you.

And just to show how far as this show has gone off the deep end, watch this. It's so sad how dumbasses care more about "storylines" when the first season was so fascinating.

Let all comers come. Forget about your dumbass producers storylines. Look at how blatantly "America's got Talent" ripped off the Britain version.

The problem is America's TV talent has no talent anymore. It is sad. Major Networks should die. Sh**. I can come up with something better in 30 minutes.

Watch, at the very least, the last minute of what I posted. It was such a natural, heartwarming moment. These past few years, the one that's going to win knows it as soon as the last three-four shows come out.

David Cook singing Collective Soul's "The World I Know" (for his final song). An absolutely amazing performance and better than the original.

    Runner-ups:
Blake Lewis: "You Give Love a Bad Name"
Clay Aiken, "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water"
    Jennifer Hudson, "Circle of Life"

Adam Lamber'ts Mad World was my favorite by far. He's the best idol ever IMO.

Carrie Underwood is the best AI to date. Alone was my favorite performance also, but this one comes close. The last note is incredible.

My favorite performance of all time, performed by my favorite idol of all time.

He's my favorite all time as well, but I always liked his performance of "Home" more than the others.

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Y2Iexw_Ro-A&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Y2Iexw_Ro-A&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

This isn't bad either, but not sure it really counts...

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/AFj9m1NW1UE&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/AFj9m1NW1UE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

And my vote for worst performance goes to David Cook for this steaming pile of ass. Our Lady Peace has been one of my favorite bands for a decade now, and he totally butchered this.

That's my #1 as well. Nobody had ever done that before. It was gutsy and fantastic. Great song, great performance. Anyone who sings can tell you that singing a capella leaves you so exposed vocally that every little flaw shows dramatically. And Bo showed no flaws in that performance.

Also, he managed to do the entire song, which is nice.

I'm not a big fan of the show but Kelly Clarkson was the first and best idol.

It's more my taste vs. the best performance but these three by Jason Castro had him as my favorite last season. It wasn't plausible for him to win because of his range and the fact that it seemed like he just got burnt out.

Not sure how I forgot that one. It really stood out to me last season.
