so a co-worker of mine showed me this website that has several anime manga on it that have been translated into english. it had a lot of popular anime on it with pretty much every single issue there is.

I watch naruto online weekly and the naruto manga was on there but I was surprised to see that the manga was about 1.5 years ahead of the current tv storyline. being the type that i am in a course of two nights i caught up and read about 125 issues (of course now the show is useless to me).

my roommate saw me last night reading on my laptop the manga scans on the internet and thought i was weird for reading a comic/book online.

personally i do prefer having a tangible book to read but reading anime is really costly if those 125 issues became roughly 12 volumes that would cost me at least 120 bucks to buy and most of the time i do not re-read manga.

I normally do not read ebooks either, my friend has one of those electronic ebook machines and she reads all the time on it. I tried reading on it but it just didnt feel right to me. but she said it saves her a lot of money and space since she can download books and not clutter her apartment with all the book she needs (english majors go figure)

while i believe the general population still prefers having an actual books how many people have read either a full novel/book online or read several comics online or through an ebook device?

I've read/downloaded a lot of books online. I'll use something like the Kindle in 2012, when the price isn't so ridiculous.

Project Gutenberg is a great site for older books for free. http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page

I've read textbooks online as a supplement to my actual book. The only other thing I actually prefer online over hard copy is the newspaper.

I don't buy comics anymore- I can't justify the time and expense. But when I discovered them online I was all over them. I like that I can sit my laptop on it's side and hit the space bar to turn the page. Almost as good as the real thing.

I've read one book on my laptop and while it wasn't as cozy as a real book I got over the difference pretty fast. That said, I'll always buy books because I like owning them.

Not a lot online because my eyes burn like crazy after a while. I'm getting a mini netbook instead of the awful kindle to counteract this in the summer. I have an ebook empire I need to get to reading :)
