Ron Arest a tru warier and people don't understand that the warier's game is not glamorous

Wariers don't care about slam dunks, they care about winning the war, thus being wariers

    Can Warier's see?

Cause Yao is 7'6 and when he holds his hand up to call for the ball he's like 17 ft. tall.

The most frustrating thing imho is at end of games (not a problem tonight) when ron stops the ball. Watching RA's ball movement offense work for most of the game and then watching it come to a screeching halt the last few minutes of the game when the rocks can't "buy" a basket gives me ulcers. Should Ron not close out games? Or do we need his D?

Ok, let's add the last games against playoff teams.

    - Feb 24, at Portland: 21 pts; 5-13 FGs
    - Feb 26, vs Cleveland: 15 pts; 5-15 FGs
    - Mar 4, at Utah: 25 pts; 9-19 FGs
    - Mar 10, at Denver: 22 pts 8-20 FGs
    - Mar 11, vs LAL: 14 pts; 4-16 FGs (0-8 3s) 6 TOs
    - Mar 14, vs SAS: 21 pts; 7-19 FGs
    - Mar 16, at NO: 18 pts; 7-23 FGs (0-9 3s)
    - Mar 22, at SAS: 24 pts; 8-20 FGs
    - Mar 25, at Utah: 13 pts; 5-22 FGs
    - Apr 03, at LAL: 21 pts; 9-19 FGs (1-6 3s) 5 TOs
    - Apr 05, vs POR: 15 pts; 4-11 FGs
    - Apr 07, vs ORL: 16 pts; 6-21 FGs
    - Apr 13, vs NOH: 9 pts; 2-13 FGs (0-4 3s), 3 TOs

79-231---> 34% FGs against playoff teams since the All-star. Aside from being pathetic, it's an issue of concern for the playoffs.

8-5 with 2 against the lakers and 2 in Utah. Are you suggesting we would have beaten the Lakers and Utah without Artest in those games?

Artest will do the right thing in the playoffs. He'll pass the ball to Yao and the Rockets will get easy buckets.

Just run Adelman's offense, Ron, and Houston will appreciate it. Take 3s in transition or try to take on the whole other team off the dribble, and Houston will not appreciate it.

I think he deserves a little bit of a break for a few reasons. For starters we have been winning. Two he is relatively new still, especially when you think of it in terms of the post McGrady Rockets. Third, even with a bad shot selection and %, he still hustles and plays solid defense.

I see your point, but I wonder what our record would have been without Ron and with Von?

We already have Shane as a defensive Wing, and while Artest is physical, his one on one defense against quicker players is severely lacking.

Don't believe all what you read, watching the games you'll see hustling and defending to Hayes, Battier, Lowry, even Brooks yesterday, or Wafer some games. Artest is one of our less efficient defenders, because he WALKS most of games. He can be an elite defender, but actually he's very overrated.

I don't know, what is clear is that we've won some games despite of him. I would prefer to have a starting SG who helps my team in the most difficult games, rather than hurt him.

    Artest Wafer
    Utah 9-19 25 0-4 2
    LA 4-16 11 9-16 20
    SA 7-19 21 2-5 6
    Utah 5-22 13 2-7 5
    LA 9-19 21 2-6 7

Of those losses, Artest was horribly inefficient in two of them. One of those, the first laker game, Wafer lit up for 20 points so I doubt Wafer could have contributed more. So at most, I think we could have won one more game, the second one against Utah. However, I think Wafer would have been abused by all their big wings which is why he doesn't get much court time against Utah. To be honest, without a healthy Tmac, Ron provides us with our only true mismatch against Utah. Every other position is a wash or in their favor.

Those are fairly ugly stats......but his point totals have been ok......but not one game shooting 50%.....wow.

The obvious solution is to make Artest the third option behind Scola (and perhaps even Brooks/Wafer). Let him shoot and play defense like Shane.

The thing is, once yao goes out, I would like to see ron in the post. I think having him out on the perimter all the time really takes away some of his advantages. I think in the playoffs, he will be a bonus because the way teams will defend in 7 games. Im not making excuses and I don't like when he takes poor shots, but there will be times in the playoffs when guys are scared to shoot. That's one thing you don't have to worry ab out with afrtest.

Don't think the organization isn't paying attention. All of those ill fated shots are certainly going to factor into what type of contract Artest is offered.

We badly need Ron Ron's D in the playoffs, but he must know he should pass the ball to Yao or Scola first!

Ron's D is overated, Battier is better on D...but what Ron brings is physical toughness and teams are afraid of him......which is very hard to quantify as to value.
