    Thanks! 82 games? That's 2 years for T-Mac, maybe 3?!

    Haha, I kid.

I do think resting players is disrespectful...either to the teams that are in the seeding because you are supposed to/most likely to win.

    BRING ON ANYONE!!!!!

Goodness, people... quit sounding like a bunch of whiny, wuss-bag, babies!

THIS is HOUSTON!!!

We are NOT to be underestimated! Do you not comprehend that Houston has already proven that they can hang with anyone, aside from the Lakers?

And do we play the Lakers in round one? NO!!!

Cheer up, naysayers... The Rockets are getting ready to BLAST OFF!

And in a triple tiebreaker at 33 losses, Utah 6th, NO 7th, Dallas 8th.

San Antonio affects the scenario because they will play New Orleans next. NO currently has 49 wins and so if they lose their game against SA and Utah beats LA, both teams would end up 49 wins. However, Utah holds the head to head tiebreaker over NO and so will be seeded ahead.

i think i'd rather see both team go all out. even if Utah faces LA in first round it wont be a easy series for LA because Utah is a tough playoff team. if we maintain 3rd-2nd seed we wont get LA til final. we just need to make sure we play Rockets ball and meet Kobe and his crew at the end of wcf. btw, i think POR is going to beat SA in first round if they go head to head, meaning, LA will face the only western playoff team that gives 'em trouble all season long at POR's home court. it might turn out to be a hard fought 4-3 Laker series. we might benefit from that also...
accroding the tie breakers i think we have the best among POR, SA. so it's a good 3rd position and we dont need to worry about jass either. just my 2 cents.

the lakers probably will rest their starters.

cavs claimed the top spot in the nba.

so lakers have no reason to play all out against the jazz.

it's probably in the Lakers' best interest to win the game, and easily. if they crush the Jazz on wednesday, they'll likely crush them the next two games and bring out the brooms. if the Lakes lose, then the Jazz end up striking fear into their hearts and making them doubt themselves as the Lakers could still end up facing the Jazz if the Hornets and Mavs still win.

regardless, the Rockets just need to win in Dallas, and clinch the 3rd seed. Denver could still win, San Antonio could lose, the possibilities are still endless, but i think the likeliest is that the road wimps lose against the Lakers.

If you think about it, it's up to the Lakers whether they want to play Utah in the first round. If they do, they'll come out strong and beat them tomorrow. If they want to avoid the j*zz, they might lose this game.

Denver, with today's win vs the Kings, just clinched #2.

Best we can do now is #3, obviously. But the Jazz are not likely to get the 6th seed though.

No, Denver has clinched the division, bu tnot the # 2 seed, If the Rox beat Dallas and Denver loses to Portland, Denver would be the # 3 seed, because the Rox hold the tiebreaker over Denver.

When seeding, the division champion is determined first before other tie breakers are considered.

Portland wants to beat Denver in order to guarantee HCA in the first round. If Hou and SA each win, then Portland would be seeded 5 with a loss.

it's laughable how fans on here have such short term memory. remember the last time we were about to go to Salt Lake City and face the Jazz? we were on quite the streak and cruised in there thinking we'd win a statement game. then they hammered us and ten topics popped up saying to avoid the jazz at all costs. it's only been 10 or so games since that loss. it's ridiculous to think we can beat the jazz in a 7 game series.
