are we talking about the classic chinese novel??? I don't know much chinese but how did the chinese title get translate into "ROMANCE" of the three kingdoms..I can't find a character in the 4-character chinese title that translates into the word "Romance"... I haven't read the novel well but its my favourite chinese story. Ever. Epic
There are several English translations. You can find out more in amazon. But Romance is a very faithful translation of "Yian Yi", an incredible historical story that lacks basic facts, as opposed to "Zhi".
By Red Cliff 1 and 2 I hope you're not talking about the garbage that came out recently Those two movies were awful and took way too much "creative liberty" Just go buy the novels off Amazon and read them
I have the original book, not the modernised version which makes for a much easier read. The original is like Shakespeare with 5, 6 character verses, however, it still makes for an incredible read. I have also read "the Water margin", "Shui Tang yang yi (about the Tang dynasty", and Monkey king. Whats everyone's experience with those?
I watched Red Cliff 1 with my relatives and they complained about the casting, particularly Takeshi Kaneshiro as Zhuge Liang. They thought he looked way too young to be the wise and masterful military strategist. I agree way too much creative liberty but otherwise very entertaining with some great battle scenes.
can you buy those red cliff movies somewhere in Chinatown? I got into this stuff since the Destiny of an Emperor game on the NES...do they come with subtitles?
