Bring back Hakeem (assuming we pick Ming)?

Assuming that we take Yao with the #1 pick, does anyone else think that it would be a good idea to trade back for Hakeem, sending a scrub (or Glen Rice --- an overpaid scrub, if they'd take him) along to Toronto? Dream's gone bust in Toronto, I'm sure they know he has zero chance of turning around, and I'll assume that they'd love to get rid of the contract. What we get in return is one of the greatest centers of all-time --- who's too old to play NBA caliber basketball at a high level, but not too old too teach it hands-on --- not to mention Yao Ming's idol. In other words, we get the best thing I can think of to try and make sure Yao Ming doesn't go bust: a Dream of a mentor for Ming's critical developmental years--- years that will inevitably come to determine whether he's left with a Shawn Bradley legacy or a Hakeem Olajuwon legacy...

    think about it...

Oh, and think of what a Ming-Olajuwon 5-spot would do for ticket sales/ratings/national-TV shots for the Rocks.... the arrival of Yao and the return of the Dream... 14.5 feet of center... maybe the Rocks could actually sell-out a home game next season :p ...

think of everything I just said (practical reasons to get Dream) and add the fact that this way Hakeem would retire in a Rockets jersey, which would obviously be a very nice thing... but still, focus on the mentoring of Yao by Dream, focus on how Hakeem can help the kid develop a post-game, focus on how the Dream can speed his development by years... the benefits are endless, I'll let your imagination go wild...

i think it would be a damned fine idea.

i thought the same thing, but do you really want to pay hakeem that kind of money for two more years? He's an icon and everything but thats a lot of money to pay an assistant coach.

Pretty good idea though it would've been better to have him here for Mings rookie year. I can't wait for Ming to do the dream shake :D .
