Adelman is a genius and hopefully will be our coach for the next several years. I had no faith in JVG what-so-ever, but Adelman can and hopefully will take this team far.

Exactly what I was saying...agree 100%! Some just can't seem to understand this simple logic though.

Exactly. I think there would be a good chance Scola wouldn't have played either. When he played last year, he was foul prone, defense wasn't that good, and had a really inconsistent jumper . I don't know if he would have survived against JVG. VSpan and Nachbar followed a similar path as Scola initially, and look how they ended up.

You can't really judge or compare the two because of their system. Plus they both had different players. I believe if Rick had the players JVG had it would have been a different discussion. Same as if JVG had the team Rick had.

In an ideal world that's true but this is a just a thread about preferences.

I like them both because they have been Rockets coaches and as I noted in another thread I would even root for Jerry Sloan if he was the Rockets coach.

I know anything Rockets is fair game in the GARM, but is this really the time for this 2 games before the playoffs? Timing seems off.

Adelman took an injured Rockets team to six games against the Jazz, and stole one in Utah. That alone gets him my vote.

for some reason, i have more confidence in RA because of his playoff experiences with a number of teams.

LOL, did I say all these players were all the worst? I just recalled some guys like you how our rotation was, all those players ,some rookies here, probably never heard of.
BTW, of course, like you said, JVG would keep Weatherspoon even SAS wanted to trade Tim Duncan for him. :D :D :D

Dont forget Lue was our starting PG for more than half the season who were traded for MJ :p .
In spite of this, there probally is some guys here still believe Adleman can bring a season winning more than 51 wins.

I agree with you JVG maybe is the most stubborn coach in this league. But giving you the rotation to any coaches in 2004, you still believe there were some coaches could bring us a season better than 51 wins?

JVG is surely stubborn, but he can also bring us ATTITUDE! What RA can bring us? Freedom, without discipline? :D

Actually Jeff had no choice. You believe he would love to keep using Yao until yao out of breath? He had no choice unless you can give him someone like Scolandry instead of Flying Bowen, Swift,Hayes or Weatherspon(someone thought he was JVG's guy :D  :D) . Even though, I still think JVG did a great job with that rotation before.

JVG had completely wasted Yao-TMAC's best years and chances.

I cannot believe Yao's fans are sayingJVG was good for Yao...... good for Yao to be a loser with some worse stats. That's all.

I said JVG, but then I realized we would still have Rafer starting, so I wish I could change my vote.

I always rethink my vote, 30 seconds after clicking...

I don't even believe the Rockets would of made the playoffs if JVG was coaching.

Well maybe somewhere near the bottom if lucky...

Gundy ball is based on his scout of players in the past.
Adelman ball is aiming for developing young players for the future.

    So who would you choose?

Even given such a chance to get a lottery, Gundy would not take it by grabbing a meaningless win. Geez, still killing me.....

the former rockets team coached by JVG wasn't as talented as today's team which is being coached by Rick. PF used to be our biggest embarrassment before Scola came but JVG still made our team around 5-7th places. the recruitment of scola upgraded our team significantly in 07's summer, also in which JVG was fired and replaced by Rick Adelman. :p

Remember, Gundy is the reason why we do not have Brandon Roy on this team

RA will never be a champion coach. Neither will JVG. And we didn't fire Rudy to get JVG. Rudy left due to heath reasons. We should've got Phil jackson when he was available. But it's all too late right now. We don't really have any better alternatives available.
