I love how longrangesniper posts the bad news and he's like, "ZOMG YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST, GIMME TEH CREDITZ!!" and then everybody tears him apart for the misleading title.

Seriously, noob, don't be an attention-wanting imbecile.

Feigen's blog suggests that Yao is not concerned at all. I'm starting to believe that this is just precautionary and they just want Yao as healthy as possible for the playoffs. Deke is proving that he can hold it down, and we play really well with that small lineup of Scola and Landry inside.

Yao was cracking jokes with Deke. seems like he was mocking the situation earlier this year where tmac and artest were going in and out and switching turns at a day off.

Even without Yao, we still have good chance to win the last two games although on the road against Mavs will be a tough one

he has not played since thursday...if their first game is on Saturady or Sunday...that would be 9 or 10 days off...that is more than the All Star Break...Yao is a creature of habit from what I've read about his practices ...i think it is big gamble to get him away from his everyday routine...if they wanted to rest him one game (which they did), that would be fine..but taking 10 days off is way too much ...we can't risk being down 2-0 in the first round..the rockets front office knows this too and they wouldn't risk it unless there is a legit problem with Yao's foot....

i think in the end Yao will play monday from the way he was acting after the golden state game...

At this stage, Yao has to play through it as long as it won't result in a career ending injury. It's a great opportunity for him and the rockets to pass the 1st this year.

If the Rockets are resting Yao to tank games to make Utah end up in 8th, I will have no respect for that.

If the Rockets are resting Yao for real and it is not because of Utah, that really worries me because something must be really wrong...otherwise he should play at least some in the games to stay in playoff form.

If this turns out to be a misleading rumor, the original OP should definitely be banned! hahaha

    We NEED that 2nd seed!

Yao should get out there and play until his foot is broke. Then we can all breath a sign of release that Yao is finally in a better place (hospital).

See this is just the Rockets following the advise of Deke:

"I'm a little surprised my man took the day off," Mutombo said. "You [Yao] can take the rest of the games off until the playoffs."

    http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2009/04/yao_sits_deke_soars_and_the_de.html

It is all just a plan to avoid Utah, get Deke back into game shape/conditioning for if we need him in the playoffs, and let Yao rest up.

I don't think this is a strategy to meet some other team in the playoffs other than the Jazz. I don't know if management plans this type of stuff like we do as committed fans.

Hopefully, they're just resting Yao with the hope that we won't meet that hellish team from Utah.

    1) this hasn't been confirmed by any trustworthy source. yao may very well play the last 2 games.

    2) the playoffs are pointless without home court. if there is a problem but yao can play through it, then he must.

Obviously that's horrible news (if that's true) but it doesn't really suprise me.

When we talk about Yao's feet we really should be worried. Just look at previous seasons.

I wouldn't be suprised if he had a surgery after the playoffs.
