It was a sign of respect and I'm happy he did it. Most of the world views Americans as ignorant and arrogant people, and it's people like this that think its wrong for the American leader to bow to someone else. Its normal in their culture and there is no reason to be too "proud" not to bow and not to show respect to other leaders.
I don't care that he bowed but I slightly care that the WH is claiming he didn't (I care about that about 1% more than I care about Carlos Boozer's health) The part I bolded I think is incorrect though. I doubt their king would bow to us and I think the normal greeting for the king is kissing right?
^ I have to agree with you..I dont understand why the white house is lying about it. I'm so damn tired of the white house feeding us lie after lie...damn it, at least be somewhat honest. I'm not sure about the kissing part, all though I have seen many middle eastern people greet each other by a kiss on each cheek (but I think that is more of a friendly greeting rather than a sign of respect greeting) I do know that it is normal to bow as a sign of respect. Would their king bow to us? Well no, but not because he is too proud, but because its not normal in our culture. We don't have any distinct ways of greeting one another or someone with "power" like other cultures do.
It's clearly not a big deal at all, which is why the media was completely honest about it with no spin job whatsoever! CNN could run a piece on Obama's brand new clothes with a picture of him in his skivvies and people would still marvel at his outfit.
They're covering it up because of Obama's ego. The guy didn't know any better (a sign of his inexperience) and now doesn't want to admit it. Well, Barry, you're really not slipping this one past anybody.

They're solidifying their 20% of the base vote. Granted, they are slowly losing the other 80% of the country, but hey, at least they'll bottom out at 20%!
