No matter what if we play Utah in the playoffs we will have homecourt. It is highly unlikely we play them in the first round now too.

It looks like LAL will beat Denver tonight which results in:

    Denver 53-27
    Houston 51-28
    Portland 50-28
    San Antonio 50-28

If Houston wins out they would get no less than the #3 seed and if Denver loses @ Portland, the Rox would be the #2 seed.

Pretty impressive given how the team looked with a hobbling McGrady.

On the other hand, if the Rox lose 1 or more games, they could conceivably not even have HCA in the first round.

Just like last year, it may come down to the final game.

i think 3rd seed will be great, that will avoid Utah at the first place

I want number 2....come on Rockets....there is really one one game I am worrying about, and that is the last one at Dallas.

I want a ridiculous 4 team tie between Denver, Houston, Portland, and SA, just because it would be funny.

I'm glad someone else shares my view on that. Dallas has been playing really good basketball lately, and I could definitely see them beating us in that last game in Dallas. The 2 seed would be GREAT for us, since we would get home court for the first TWO rounds, and we are an excellent home team. You know Dallas is gonna be playing all out in that game since they will not want to face LA in the first round, and will probably have a chance to move up in the standings with a win over us.

Hell I'm cheering on Dallas being NOs x 2, if that happens NOs likely ends season at best 1-3, meaning Dallas is locked out of the 8th seed coming into final game vs. us.

Give us that free win Dallas :D.

TNT just reported that if Houston & SA ran the table and both finished in a tie, the Rockets would win the 5th tie-breaker (record vs playoff teams) and be the division winner. :)

Finally CONFIRMED...the Rockets control their own destiny......for the division and we need Portland to win the last game and the Rockets get the 2nd seed as well.

I don't want the 4th seed just to avoid the Jazz...because you're going to face the Lakers in the 2nd round. I want the 3rd seed and face whoever (EVEN THE JAZZ) so that we can advance deeper before we play the Lakers.

Barkley is predicting the winner of the Denver/Utah series would play the Lakers in the WCF, assuming the season ended today.

I knew about this since yesterday when i looked up on all the team's schedules. I know that Nuggets will lose both to Lakers and Portland and Houston just had to win at Dallas to get the 2nd seed.

Um, I don't KNOW that the Nuggets will lose to the Blazers. Mind sharing some of your insight??

I certainly know that its possible that the Nuggets lose to the Blazers. But I also know that its possible that the Nuggets defeat the Blazers.

We have played very well at home, so getting the 2nd seed would be huge.

In that scenario, they could still be battling Utah for the #6 seed. But the Jazz play their last game on Tuesday while the HOU-DAL game is on Wednesday, so the Mavs will have a clear idea if the Rockets game means anything or not. If the Mavs beat NO twice + MIN while the Jazz go 2-2, then they'll have the 6th spot locked up and can phone in the Rockets game.

I would be INCREDIBLY surprised if fatboy picked us to win even a single series this post-season.....no matter WHO we play.
