    My question is why?

Doesn't anyone realize that if the Rockets were in the position they are in now, that Eddie Griffin would most likely have been the player taken. I say most likely because they might have taken Pau Gasol depending on workouts.

The Rockets traded three first-round picks for him. The Rockets' brass isn't going to give up on Eddie already. Plis not to mention he showed brilliant flashes this past season, at the tender age of 19.

It is my opinion that Eddie is the most untouchable player on the Rockets. Now before I get flamed, I think EG has the most upside of any player currently on the Rockets' roster.

    Flame away.

Absolutely true, but I think the most untouchable player is francis when he is resigned.

I completely agree with you. Eddie's going to be a star in the league. Just give him time

I absolutely agree. I honestly believe that EG is the next great Rocket big man, Ming or no Ming.

Up until the last minute, Griff was projected as going as high as #1. We have really lucked out with him and Steve. I too believe that he's untouchable. He can be the inside force we all desire.

Mr. Franchise is a bit on the untouchable side as well.

100 % agreement!! Eddie will be a superstar player....mark my words. If our #1 pick pays off, and we do get one of, if not, the BEST player in this draft, the Rockets could and should have an overwhelming line-up that can push them into the realm of the NBA's elite teams.

Couple of questions. Is EG a legit 6'9" or 6'10"? Do you think he can add the necessary muscle (mainly upper body) to play down low with the BIG boys?

We dont need to do any trades. We are in the perfect situation. Draft Ming and then trade KT and the 15th to move up or get someone like Ron Artest. Unless something unbelievable is offered (Duncan, Garnett, #2pick plus Curry), just draft Ming. I would not even give up Eddie, Cat and number one pick for Garnett. A team of Garnett and Francis would not do much in the WC. A team of

    Ming/Cato
    Griffin/Maurice
    Artest or someone like him/Rice
    Mobley/Oscar
    Francis/Moochie

would kick some serious ass in a year or two at the most.

eddie isn't really involved in too many trade threads unless it involves landing a garnett type player. i think most people, myself included, see griffin as eventually becoming our all-star power forward.
