I think he could be worth a solid draft pick. I dont know, what about Drew and our pick to the Clippers for there pick. We could get Kenyon Martin, or Darius Miles.

The most Drew can get you is the last pick of the draft.

Drew could probably fetch a late first rounder, but there's no way he's fetching you the Clippers pick (unless you add more than just the Rockets first rounder too).

Drew And Our Pick would equal about Chicago's second pick(#6). Perhaps we work out a deal with them, but it seems unlikely that they might want Mobes. What I propose...

Chicago Gets: Our Pick(Richardson) and Drew, perhaps some $$$

    Rockets Gets: Bulls Pick(Miles)

Reason why is if Bulls Pick Richardson, NJN and Clev would be happy to take Miles in front of us, but if Bulls pick Miles then they for sure can get Richardson at our pick.

However as always, something to screw us on is Bulls like Mobes.

    I like that idea RF34.
    I also like my idea
drew and carlos R for the #16 pick and Tyrone Nesby

No offense Tex but drew and Los are better than #16 and Nesby. I would do this deal only if we could package something to get a top 3 pick.

    none taken scarface.

outlaw seemed to disagree also. but he said nesby alone wasnt worth those 2. he said the clips would never trade him. so i am in the middle of u guys. i like carlos but he mihgt get lost on the bench and is very injury prone.

another idea. chicago has the #32 #34 and #38th picks of the draft. how about drew alone for those 3? rudy T always finds some sort of a gem in the 2nd round. i know there might be some good players left. maybe not of Othella or mobley value but they still might make good role players. what do u guys think?

you guys beat me to starting this thread on my own.

But realistically, can the Rockets at least get the 16th pick in this years draft.

However I think that there is already a deal in the works for Drew. It's been there for a little bit of time. Drew played great when he played. How do you all explain the Rockets geting Norris when Drew was playing decent for a backup point guard.

I missed something here Vince. We will have most likely the ninth(9)pick overall, and a possibility on improving that. Incidentally, Rt and CD both feel there is not much that they are interested in beyond that. The real core of the draft is limited to the 1-7 spots this year. They made trade up or trade off the nine all together.

When Steve was hurt, and some say played hurt (with a sprained ankle and hyperextended knee) from that point to the end of the season, they needed a point guard "similiar" to Steve for drives and creators off the ball.

Steve played with Norris and knew him well eventhough Mooch is two years older. Norris also was the absolute best PG in the CBA this past season, but was overshadowed with a medical/attitude "past history" that many teams did not explore fully.

Actually, as several insightful people who work for the Rockets pointed out, it was a misunderstanding. Mooch was let go from the Sonics, in part, because he was said to be: "..... lazy, slept through video presentations, did not listen, and probably spent too many nights out partying..."

In fact, he has narcolepsy, a disorder that causes spontaneous episodes of falling asleep without warning. Several very smart and well-known people have had this and lived a normal life. Mooch also was new to the Pro game, was nervous about this "thing" he had which he was scared and secretive about, and he ended up compounding the problem by having insomnia and not being able to sleep at night.

He is definitely not lazy. He has gotten help and assistance and lives and plays a great game today.

When Norris was brought in to start spotting Drew in games it showed that his uptempo game complimented the players as they were used to this style with Steve. He was a natural. When Steve came back, Drew had to sit more.

He figures in the plans as RT referred to him in his "... resigning two of the four guys in the back ... " (Norris/Mobes & Steve/Shandon) as a priority.

He said he had Insomnia, maybe he was just embarrased. Oh well, if he falls a sleep on the bench or in a team meeting with the Rockets Mr. Mean will take care of him.

I think we can get a pick for Drew of roughly the same caliber as the one we used to pick him: 16-19 or so.

If you are correct, the Rocks can make this trade very easily. You would think that if a team was interested in getting a 1 with a mid first round pick and was interested in Drew, that team would quickly pull the trigger on the deal. Getting a player with two years of experience (that hasn't scared that team off of Drew since they want him) instead of a decent pick with potential takes away the risk of the pick's potential not playing out.

Having said that I don't see a team stupid enough to make this deal. I predict that Drew will be waived early "to allow him the best possible chance to catch on with another team".

A question I have is: are the PGs that will be available at 16-19 in this year's draft better than Drew? We're talking Cleaves, Penn, Claxton, maybe even Barkley (would probably go earlier). Throw in the fact that there are other PGs that will likely be moved this offseason like Brevin Knight and probably Mark Jackson for example and I don't know just how big the demand for Drew would be. I would love it if we could trade Drew for a pick that would get us Collier, if he's as good as he sounds.

    Valdez,

That's a pretty good idea-- I mean, Drew wasn't exactly a "Bust." Because with starter's PT, he plays pretty well. I agree, trade him for a draft pick in that range.. a Bigman First-rounder, and Thus we add more big bodies (forwards/centers) rather than small bodies. (guards) We're stocked with personnel at the 1,2 positions. We just need to exchange and grab some forwards.

It is however going to be like many of you say-- this year's draft isn't going to be THAT good.. =| I really wish Terrence Morris would come out this year. Next year the Rockets will be much better..and out of that lotter race B.S. Francis said Morris is a guy who makes him go "woah." So basically he's a Bigger version of Francis. *wink*.. maybe not. hehehe....

I'm curios pop- where is that quote from? Just Rudy reiterating how he needs to re-sign Cat and Moochie?
