That's because Jr's budgets never included expenditures on his two wars. But what's even more impressive is that Obama will have his budget passed and there is nothing Republicans can do about it. Ah.....
It is tiresome, maybe if basso or the GOP could get some new bad ideas instead of having to recycle the same old sh-tty ones again ("ACORN AND THE BLACKS DONE STOLE THE ELECTION!11!!!!!") That's what's wrong with his party - no new ideas and stuck on stupid.
See you are so damn condescending in your remarks. Anything that a conservative thinks is right is obviously wrong in your mind. You have made yourself into the exact opposite of Basso, job well done, I'm sure we are all impressed.
You think Bush's budget was $1.2 trillion? What world do you live in? We haven't had budgets that small in at least 15-20 years. Bush's last budget was $3.1 trillion - not including Iraq or Afghanistan. Do you just make stuff up?
Judging from my rep points, I cut an impressive, impressive figure. Anyway what is your plan on the budget? If you explain it to me (I'm going to guess with a slogan about "cut spending, small government!") I will be happy to point out why you are wrong on an objective basis. I have before but I will do it again.
Of everything I've read so far, yes, I'm quite pleased to renew our committment to education, Healthcare and green energy.
Yes those things are good, but is that all the budget contains? I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't worried about the lack of fiscal responsibility I've seen so far this year, whether it is the stimulus package or the budget.
As I said earlier I think that's just a difference in philosophy that happens to be strongly correlated with political ideology. Conservatives tend to view morality through allegiance to a group much more than liberals, and therefore are much more averse to making the group appear weak. I mean, I'd like to ask, why don't you like to hear our president calling us arrogant, but I think it is more of an ingrained philosophical position than it is a logical one. Just a nit, but can't you say, "so transparently political to me"? It is not "so transparently political" overall, as I have made it clear that I think it is diplomatic and not political and given reasons why. You can of course disagree, but why not acknowledge that something that others disagree with may not be as obvious as you think it is?
sure- if you would refrain from making blanket statements about what conservatives "tend to think." and, btw, if you've followed my posts, i think you'd see that i'm not a conservative. if anything, i'm a liberal, in the classic sense.
I would hope you understand that discussions of what a group of people tend to do should not imply that the actions of one member of that group must follow. That said, do you disagree with my conclusion? By the way, I don't really care about classical definitions or even modern definitions of conservative versus liberal, nor do I care what you see yourself as. My point remains that there is an inherent difference in how different people form their opinions, and that difference correlates strongly to political persuasion. If you'd like to convince me that your political ideology is similar to Obama's, feel free to try, otherwise you count as a member of the "conservative" group in this discussion. And again, if you disagree with my conclusion, then please provide the rationale behind why you object to those statements (beyond the fact that you think they are political).
Wow, your definition of victory is pretty loose. Why a corrective stance has to be equated with disrespect to those who sacrificed for the cause. The courage and honesty of a political figure to review and admit past wrong is an indication of great confidence of the country. I don't find the logic not convincing that since he represent those who don't share his political view he has to restrain from making "provocative" comments.
uolj is about to discover the futility of trying to constructively engage the most intellectually dishonest poster on this bbs.
You guys hate the government, claim that government is the problem, but you want to run the government? How does that even make any sense? I know you’re still hurt that McCain lost, but GET OVER IT! The country disapproved the rights' job perforce over the last 8 years; hence your party was fired. I don’t think it’s anything that Obama could possibly do to make you happy so hopefully now you will move out the country. You’re to busy listening to Limbaugh and posting articles from Drudge instead off giving the man a fair chance. You have already chosen to convict the stimulus package as a failure, when it has just begun to be issued out, it just might work. When the market was down, you far “right wingers” blamed Obama. When the market started to post positive gains you all disappeared. I don’t agree with Obama on every single issue, but he is by no means incompetent and is doing a damn good job IMO. I can’t think of a single positive thread or post for that matter from you giving Obama any type of due credit. You’re in the minority now, so of course you’re not going to like all of his polices, that’s the way our system works. There is a reason the Republican Party is becoming extinct and let’s just says your part of the problem.
