I'm sure Sammy will have some clever RIPOSTE as to why spending $12 trillion is no big deal- such as, it's just "WW2, adjusted for inflation."

I don't care what side of the political aisle you're on, you should be concerned about the proliferation of water skiing squirrels. This is real, folks.

^^^I look forward to four and hopefully eight years of bitter republicans repeating tired sarcastic lines like, "do you feel the change", or "is this the change___blah blah blah, or "blah blah blah____change in my pocket"

    ROTFLMAO

Prior to global warming, that was a snow skiing squirrel, but I am sure there are a lot of folks smarter than me on that issue.

Hey, I'm not expert on it either. But my understanding is that GW is fueled far more by squirrel farts than pollution.

    Think about it, folks.

First off, the video doesn't mention $12 trillion - it mentions $4 trillion. And even that is completely off because in many cases it's simply guarantees and the like or asset purchases.

Yes, it may cost a $200 billion or so at the end of the day - seems a small price to pay for preventing the end of the western world, don't you think?

I'm skeptical of the accuracy of the numbers in the video (or rather, the accuracy of how they are presented), but don't want to take the time to go to the website to check them out.

Still, even if they are completely correct, what does the video say? Basically, it's "Wow, big numbers... we better be careful!" Well, duh! I think both the people who proposed the spending and a lot of the people who support them know that they must be careful with such relatively big numbers. That's why they provide rationale behind the decisions to spend that money.

Is there some other point that I'm missing?

You should be - because it's all a bunch of nonsense. The numbers only are relevant if every single loan around the world were to default, in which case nations would fail and currency would be worthless in any case anyway, so who really cares at that point?

Guarantees are not the same as spending and whoever created the video either doesn't understand that or intentionally wants to mislead. Same with the person who posted the video.
