I caught him in San Jose last week. He was out there sweating and rocking for a solid two and a half hours....

...And then he came back for a 45 minute encore!

Best Boss show I've ever taken in. Lots of interesting choices/fun arrangements off of the older albums.

Oh and I forgot to mention that Wilco (!) will be going on before him. They both perform on that Saturday night.

Well, saw both Wilco and Springsteen this past Saturday night and they were both absolutely amazing!

This was the 2nd time I have seen Wilco (saw them on St. Patty's Day in 2006 at the Ryman) and they were even better than the first time I saw them which I didn't think was possible!

    Their setlist was as follows:

    1. Wilco (The Song)
    2. I Am Trying to Break Your Heart
    3. Company in my Back
    4. Handshake Drugs
    5. Bull Black Nova
    6. You Are My Face
    7. One Wing
    8. Pot Kettle Black
    9. Side with the Seeds
    10. Shot in the Arm (!!)
    11. At Least That's What You Said
    12. Jesus, Etc.
    13. Impossible Germany (!!)
    14. California Stars
    15. Misunderstood
    16. Spiders (Kidsmoke) (!!)
    17. Hummingbird
    18. You Never Know
    19. The Late Greats
    20. Hate It Here
    21. Walken
    22. I'm the Man Who Loves You

It's interesting to note that songs #1, #5, #7, and #18 are off the new album, "Wilco (The Album)" which is to be released by the end of this month.

Springsteen's set list was as follows:

    1. Badlands
    2. No Surrender
    3. My Lucky Day
    4. Outlaw Pete
    5. Out In The Street
    6. Working On A Dream
    7. Seeds
    8. Johnny 99
    9. Youngstown
    10. Raise Your Hand
    11. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (sign request)
    12. Growin' Up (sign request)
    13. Thunder Road (sign request)
    14. Waitin' On A Sunny Day
    15. The Promised Land
    16. The River
    17. Kingdom of Days
    18. Radio Nowhere (w/Jay Weinberg on drums)
    19. Lonesome Day
    20. The Rising
    21. Born To Run

    Encores:
    22 Hard Times
    23. 10th Ave Freeze Out
    24. Land Of Hope & Dreams
    25. American Land
    26. Rosalita
    27. Glory Days
    28. Dancing In The Dark

Was a little disappointed that he didn't play "I'm On Fire", "Racing in the Streets", and "Jersey Girl" (Tom Waits song) but for the most part, I was pretty happy with what he played.

Springsteen is amazing that he is 60 and was able to play 3 hours. The guy is a human dynamo. Without a doubt, seeing him live was the best concert I have ever seen and I have now seen like 20 or so artists. Bruce blows them all out of the water (although Wilco is pretty damn good in their own right).
