So, is the general consensus that we will lose in the 2nd round? (if we get there)

I feel that as long as we dont have to play the Lakers or the Jazz we can make it past the 2nd round... we match up well against the other teams

It s going to take Yao being vocal to prevent Brooks from playing SG instead of PG and Artest from going hog wild at key points in the game. I don't think he's going to, unfortunately. Maybe Scola will.

If we're a 4, 5, or 8 seed, we'll go no further than the 2nd round. 2, 3, 6, or 7 seed, and we could possibly advance to the WCF.

The last two games have dampened a tad of my enthusiasm. I am surprised how often the Rockets don't seem to play with intensity or urgency. I will tell you this, if the Rockets "slump" into the playoffs they are DOA. They are simply not good enough to do that and survive. They better recover whatever mojo they had and quick. They are definitely not clicking at the moment. Hopefully some home cooking will do the trick. If it doesn't, this team's playoff future is in serious doubt.

If we make it past the first round this year, I would call the season a success.

I don't have much confidence in that, however.

Frankly, I don't see why we should expect to win one round and expect to lose in the second. The teams are so jumbled up that we could just as easily see a team in the second round as the first round.

If we think we can beat the Hornets, why would the second round be any different? as long as we're not slotted at the 4/5, whoever we play in the second round will be about as good as the team we play in the first round....theoretically, anyways.

Rox maybe defeat Spurs in 2nd round, i mean, if they can pass the 1st round in POs.

I believe Rox could beat Jazz up if they would meet in the first round.

If we end up with the 3 seed and get past whoever we play and end up playing Denver in the second round I am confident that we could win that series.

I expect to make it to the Western Conference Finals. I know the Lakers have owned us this year but I'm not really afraid of them. We should be able to contain everyone but Kobe if we play well.

agreed, I'm more concerned about the Jazz than Lakers. Our team has no advantage over the Jazz from PG to PF, yao surely has advantage over Okur but Jerry Sloan can make it as minimal as possible by throwing a rocky guard helping Okur. The Jazz has even more means for yao on the other end, only Okur's 3 pointers are more than enough to let yao run his guts off from paint to arc, never to mention yao also needs to help scola coping with boozer sometimes.

But our games with Jazz are easier at the offensive end. Utah Jazz were used to doubling yao while leaving alone chuck Hayes who is not more useful than a 6'7 bole in offense, but scola makes it impossible for Jazz to treat him the way they deal with Hayes, which will definitely make it easier for yao to make points consistently. in a word, I expect the debut of Scoyao in the postseason.

If the Rox are the 8 seed and make it to the second round, it means we just beat the Lakers, and therefore I would like our chances of getting to the finals.

More likely, we will be the 4 seed HCA against Portland. And I like our chances to advancing to meet the Lakers in the second round. It would be hard to beat the Lakers however.

The 3 seed would probably bring SAS or Nuggets in the second round.

The 2 seed would bring either SAS or Nuggets in the second round with HCA also.

The 2 or 3 seed will likely match up with NOH or Utah in the first round.
