The coaching staff were just named coach of the month. You aren't going to execute down the stretch better than LA with Ron and Brooks as your playmakers.
i didn't know that. but are you saying coach of the month of march shouldn't take some blame for the all-loss-so-far april?
i know what you want to say. i have to rewatch the tape to tell you how many touches he had in the low post in the second half, and how may times he actually shot the ball out of those limited number of touches. the thing is, even if your point has some validity, it's a much smaller and secondary issue right now. maybe sometimes yao wanted a re-post. (but how can he re-post when in reality he doesn't even have a chance to "post" up?) i just can't understand why we went away from what we did well in the first half tonight.
So does almost every other team in the league. The Lakers have had many serious mental lapses on defense this year, lucking out wins in the end only because they have Bryant. Orlando lives and dies by the 3, Utah is absolutely horrible on the road, Cleveland cannot match up well with the top teams, Portland is also horrible on the road, Denver is very weak defensively, San Antonio is much weaker all around and showing their age, etc. The Rockets have executed well enough down the stretch to win 48 games, with a gaping $21 million dollar hole in their roster. We've had very few blow-out losses, we compete hard, we just have flaws like every other team. Face it, we just want them to win every game. Nothing wrong with that.
This team would go no where, if our guard --midget AB-- is not willing to find Yao, and has Ron and Waffer play like they are superstars... If we failed in first round again, Yao would not resign, will even I dislike it, but for a player with that passion and heart, he deserve a better team... Rockets are simply forget Yao should and must be their goto guy...12 shot in 39 minutes...give me a break...
The Rox aren't an elite team. They're not on the level of the Lakers, or the Spurs. They're pretty good, which is actually impressive considering they're missing $21 million from the roster. I can see them getting past the first round of the playoffs with a good match up. I just can't see them winning it all or even necessarily getting to the WCF.
ibm, all I've ever said is with the time it takes yao to get in position, once he gets the ball, he needs to make a move to shoot. When he doesn't and its late in the game, the good teams aren't going to let u repost. Now the team is againstthe shot clock.
Tough loss. I don't know why people are acting so shocked. We lost to the Lakers on the road. People just need to realize that with T-mac out we are not elite, with an injured T-mac we were not elite. With an healthy T-mac, Yao, and Ron we were contenders for possibly a Championship. If any of them went down the contention would go out the window and T-mac was the one that went down out of the 3. We still have enough talent to get out the 1st round, even though we still could lose in the 1st round too. But as far as Championship hopes, well I consider it doubtful.
i knew that's what you had to say, and i am not against that idea. yao shot 5/8 in the first half, and was 1-4 in the second. so he got half the shots in the 2nd half while playing more minutes. isn't that, a much bigger issue?
Dude you've been here long enough to understand the majority of people here think we should win every game, even against superior teams. I guess when these 'clutchfans' watch the game, they don't see the significant size advantage of the Lakers on us. When Gasol was posting up Scola. When Odom was shooting over Artest. So if we put Yao in there, they'd play pick and roll with Gasol and you'd have Yao trying to guard Kobe. Fisher is schooling Brooks. Surprised? Come on. it wasn't that bad of a loss and definitely not a SHOCKER. they SWEPT us this year.
tinman, it's not that we cannot take a loss; it's the way we lost. (hint: same exact problems in the suns game.)
as expected, lakers are better than us at this point, they have better players, they play harder as a group and have better coaching and a run their system better. we can't beat them in a series. not this year with the players we have.
great..Yao had 6 blocks and did a pretty good job defending the paint, yet Rick took him out and Pau was sure enjoying his time against Scola
