Hmm...thats nice logic. How about this: If we had Kobe instead of McGrady, we would've won the title in 2005 and 2007. Why stop there? If we had a 1995 Olajuwon, we'd be a lock for the title.
i said that b/c morey and les said it. they wanted tracy to keep playing until tracy announced the surgery. so yes, if tracy was relatively healthy right now miraculously, they want him to play and start.
we would at least break into the 2nd round if we had Deron, I'm afraid Aaron will become another luther head who is a worldwide known playoff chocker.
What r u guys talking about? We have Brooks and Artest. they replace Mcgrady's job perfectly! Why you miss Mcgrady when you have two players like him.
The Rockets are actually stronger this year without McGrady, and his health has got nothing to do with it. He wouldn't play the offense. Rockets with McGrady: mediocre. Rockets without McGrady: pretty good, but not great. It's asking a lot of any team to compete without $21 million in salary. Considering that the Rockets are doing a bang up job. Finally, odds are that McGrady won't be around next year given the way he handled his surgery.
I do not want Artest to be the fall guy but he jacks up a lot of shots. Call it his warrior mentality
i think about mcgrady everyday. even in my dreams i think about... that he gets traded, asap and for anything we can get. seriously. and it's not personal.
We miss a healthly T-Mac in EVERY road game. Remember, we used to be a top road team in the NBA. Right now we are -2.
I think that's historical revisionism. There was a time there when the Rockets actually did better on the road than at home, for whatever bizarre reason, but I don't think the Rockets ever qualified as a "top road team".
Why not? We used to be a great road team and that was especially because of T-Mac. He used to suck at home, but on the road he usually stepped up. Right now we just can't get any energy on the road, we are just completly quiet, not fired up at all. If I am right, even last season T-Mac was averaging like 18 ppg at home and 26 on the road. JVG even called him the best road player in the NBA.
If that were true then why aren't those anybodies on this current Rockets team???? Wafer will not get it done in the playoffs, he's a shoot first, second, third type of player but people like him better than T-mac. That says a lot to me... And why does almost always seem that your point guard gets more shot attempts than you best active player?? I understand Yao's unselfishness but it still doesn't make sense if it's about winning.
We're so much better aren't we? Pfff we can't even get a better record than we did last season.. both years had big injuries and injuries in and out of the lineup with an even tougher western conf. last season IMO.
Tracy has sucked this year, home or away, though our road record has been better in the games he's played. But I agree with you as far as previous seasons. For example, from Tracy's first season with us through last year, our road record in games he's played has been 82-52, or 61% (and 10-20 in road games he did not play). That's pretty good, IMO. In that span, only 3 other teams won 61% of their road games -- PHO, DAL, and DET.
As hard as it might be to believe (or maybe not), last night was the first time, since he gave up on the season, that I've thought about how much we could have used a reasonably healthy McGrady during a game.
And 99% of CF should agree on that. Healthy McGrady in this current team is gold. Enough of those comments that a healthy McGrady will ruin this team chemistry and the motion offense. Those are just silly.
Is Yao any more involved in the offense since McGrady's last game with the team? It doesn't look to me like he's getting any more touches. One of the big drop offs is his free throw attempts. Since the Milwauke game, Yao is only getting 4.5 FTA per 36 minutes. That's about the lowest in his career. We don't have a guy who's capable of getting him the ball off penetration. Yao would draw a lot of fouls that way off dump off passes from McGrady.
that's key. tracy would get yao AT LEAST 2-3 easy buckets a night not including free throws. i think yao misses that.
Anyone who doesn't miss McGrady is really hating on the guy real hard. Why wouldn't you miss a guy who is capable of averaging 20-25 ppg with 6 rebs and 5-6 assist a game. His presence on the court alone is something we need because he can turn it on at any given time.
